Reason being is that the top teeth have to be numbed individually..The bottom teeth can be numbed all at once,by injections in the jaw muscle..At least that's how my dentist explained it....  |

Py I had work done on my upper left side two months ago and he did the novacaine the same way for that work. It had the same effect. However when it came to extraction, I was numb up to my eyeballs for those because he shot me up good and he did do it above the tooth. I got stabbed a LOT of times for that work..LOL  |

LOL DP. After the novacaine is in I completely hate the whole feeling of tiredness in my arms and legs. My adrenaline SOARS when I brace for pain. I can handle a bunch of it, I had two kids, would do it again without fear if I had to but geeze it does a number on that adrenaline..LOL |

I've only gotten injected with novacaine once and it was done right by the tooth. The only pain I felt was a soreness in my gum, but it was really no big deal. Heh. -  |

Ummm Nope! I don't go to the dentist often though LOL...I have a major fear of them...which forces me to keep my teeth in good condition....I haven't had any novicane since I was about sixteen when I got my crowns done....and they didn't do a great job of numbing me up..  |

I used to go every six months when I was kid. Then I turned into an adult and couldn't afford to send my kids to the dentist let alone myself...LOL. The kids have gone, they are A okay, I have been having work done for 6 months and for going 8 years, I was shocked it wasn't more..LOL. I have a few trips to go and way too much money but *sigh* it's gotta be done....LOL |

it's funny as can be...i am terrified of the pain of the needle more than the pain of the work they do lol, but i've had so much medical crud done to me it's second nature now...just the fear of the dang needle lol |

I have a problem with needles, I don't mind novacaine, and have no clue why, though it does make me a wreck, I can tolerate having my blood draw. Flu shot? LMBO!!!!! I would rather brave the flu! |

I didn't have one of those for my daughter, and I was more or less forced to have one for my son. I had a bad bladder infection, was 10 centimeters and could not push because of the pain of the infection. By the time they got it in, it didn't touch labor, which really wasn't the problem, but it did take away the atrocious pain I had from the infection. If I were to have another, I wouldn't opt for it again either. To this day it is sore to the touch where they put that thing in. It creeps me out! LOL |

I've only had novacaine about once in my life when I was eight years old. I don't remember much about it except, I remember going to the grocery store afterwards and looking at my reflection in the window. I had been walking around the store for awhile drooling blood all over my shirt and I didn't notice until then. I don't have my wisdom teeth yet though.  |

The dentists I've been to here in Australia always have injected into the jaw as you describe. So I've known no different. Not that I make it a habit to go to the dentists for fillings.lol. Well I need to go see a dentist real soon have not been in a long time...but it never really bothered me...not the needles or the drilling at least teh pain from it didnt...it is the sound that killed me. Shrill sounds like that just send chills down my spine but I imagine I will have to get used to it cause I am going to have some work done real soon  |

i had novacaine given to me in the jaw hinge. it didnt help me any. i still felt everyyyyyything LOL BUT when I had it done, my tooth was absessed. Speaking of teeth, I broke my molar Saturday and now have to wait til the 28th to have it pulled! Sucks to be me  ( LOL  |

I like my novacaine shaken... Not stirred. But in any event as long as it stops the pain. And less is better for me. Seems like when they shot me with that stuff my chest constricts. I have told the dentist beforehand and they monitor me closely.  |
