I close my eyes, only to hide the tears within them
I sigh with each breath, and
Wrap my arms around my body, holding myself together
Keeping myself from turning cold,
The warmth I receive must come from within
I hear the voices around me,
But sometimes I'm just so afraid,
To open my eyes again
Life has taken a hold of me
As each day's sun fades into night
I find myself, clinging to that one bright light,
That one star, hoping it's shining for me
Wishing someone could just hear me...hear my plea
But even with all my heartache,
All the wounds I carry with me
It just wouldn't make sense, to give in
I don't know why certain things happen
And sometimes I really do feel alone,
But then I'm reminded;
I lift my eyes toward the heavens
As my tears fall to the ground,
Someday, everything will be....okay....
