Just do it Wooden. You've beaten them before and You know that You can do it again. At least having quit a few times before You are better prepared for what to expect and You will succeed. Congratulations. I wish You good luck, but it seems that You have a great understanding of what is at stake and what is required. Drink lots of water to flush the body. Take Care. Enki |

Good luck Woody.. you can do it!.... My mom smoked for 40 years... and then shortly after my twins were born... she was taking them for a walk... and Abbey looked up at her with that cigarette in her hand as if to say.."what are you doing with that?"And that look stayed with her.. and she quit... it took her 5 weeks.. .. that was over 5 years ago |

Good Luck Woody! You are one of those people that can pick the habit up, keep it and then throw it away again when you have no use for it! I am envious! Here's to your health! |

Good luck Wooden Nickel! My dad used to smoke, but he quit when my mother got pregnant with me because he didn't want me to live with the second hand smoke. I am almost 23 and he is still smoke free. To keep him from smoking, he chews on toothpicks because he said it's the habit of having something in his mouth rather than the nicotine itself. Anyway, good luck, I know you can do it! |

Good luck! I quit for two years than started again. I did use the patches and hypno-therapy and felt like it really helped, especially the support group where they actually had us do a breath test to see if we had cheated (one couple who HADN'T cheated still tested for a high amount of carbon-minoxide...turns out their furnace was leaking so quiting smoking saved there lives in more than one way). Anyway, I've been thinking of quiting again, guess because I'm getting ready to hit 40, might be why I'm suddenly obsessed with exercise and eating right..what next? A red sports car?? |

I see people do it in so many different ways.. My mom cut cold turkey and never picked up another one.. That takes major will power. Others I know have tried and failed. My brother used those nicotine patches...... |

I wish you the best of luck. I have tried many times to quit, but I've never been able to. I've been smoking for 20 years (since I was 9). At the time, I thought it was cool. Everytime I light up, I think "wow, this is really stupid. I know I'm killing myself, yet I keep smoking". I know smoking is nothing but pure stupidity, but that doesn't seem to help me stop. |

I gave up on the 2nd January this year. Its been pretty hard but do-able. I mainly struggle when i am drinking (beer and cigarette seem to go hand in hand too well!). But even though its only been a couple of weeks i am seeing the improvements in my health already but one thing that i am absolutely loving is the fact that my fingers dont smell anymore. That was one thing i used to hate. Best of luck WN, we can both do it my friend!! |
