She is in my prayers and I was wondering if penny wasn't feeling well. I did not know she had diabetes, our daughter has had diabetes since the age of 17. Don't know which is worse it being to high or to low. They tell our daughter when her sugar is to high to go for a walk and maybe that will help. Usually she gets a bad headache and she ends up in bed.Just make sure she eats or her sugar will drop. Tell her hello for me and for her to take care of her self. trauma momma  |

I'm glad that you called the doctor right away. Disorientation plus a blood glucose reading of 375 are indeed dangerous signs. It is good that she has such a caring doctor to give out a private line to be reached in emergency situations when the paging service is not working as efficiently as it should be. I will keep her in my prayers. I suffer from hypoglycemia, a form of low blood sugar, and though I am losing weight, am still in the high-risk category for developing diabetes. Thankfully she has you to look in on her, and others who care for her who also know how to administer her insulin in case she is unable to do so herself. I'm lucky in a similiar way. My boyfriend not only knows where I carry my glucose tablets in my purse, but carries his own supply when we are out together, in case we lose track of time, and I go too long without eating and get woozy. So I will send out many prayers...for Penny, all suffers of diabetes or disorders having to with blood sugar, and pray for a cure...I know they are close, may 2004 be the year they find it. --Christine-3  |
