i highly recommend this movie!! It is a documentry about guns and violence in America. i love the way the director tries to show us why America is so violent compared to the rest of the world. This isnt an anti gun movie. The director himself is actually a member of the NRA. Movie is a bit biased but wont anger you no matter what your beliefs are on the matter. Check it out!

Date: 1/13/2004 11:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 59163    you do know that a lot of it was all staged and setup right? it wasnt actually a very true depiction of anything
Date: 1/13/2004 11:11:00 AM  From Authorid: 33401    It's a wonderful documentry, but very sad. Love,
Date: 1/13/2004 11:21:00 AM  From Authorid: 2030    Micheal Moore is not a member of the NRA, it's just another in his litany of lies and half truths. Bowling for Columbine is anything but a documentary, the bulk of it is staged and most of the so called "interviews" are scripted. Take this movie for what it is - anti gun propaganda by a man (I use that word loosely) who is only interested in sensational movie making and his own fame and bank account.
Date: 1/13/2004 11:31:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62344    hmmm didnt know that it was fake. where did you hear that?
Date: 1/13/2004 11:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 2030    You can start at nra.org, also FOX news and Bill O'Reiley did a piece on it, as did "Access Hollywood" and "60 Minutes".
Date: 1/13/2004 11:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 1799    i really want to see this movie.
Date: 1/13/2004 11:44:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62344    Ok im not really gonna check NRA lol. but "60 Minutes" is credable. that is too bad still a good movie nonetheless with some very interesting points.
Date: 1/13/2004 11:45:00 AM  From Authorid: 32133    there right it was staged.....i saw it and really didnt like it at all
Date: 1/13/2004 11:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 36704    http://www.hardylaw.net/Truth_About_Bowling.html
Date: 1/13/2004 11:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 2030    There is in fact a movement calling for Moore to return his Oscar for documentary film making, because so much of it was invented. I doubt it will come to anything. I would say anyone who wants to see the movie should do so. Just keep in mind it is as much a documentary as "lord of the rings'. And honestly if you're interested in gun violence and honest statistics you should check out the NRA web site. They have some good information. They are very much for the enforcement of existing gun laws.
Date: 1/13/2004 12:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 2030    Great link Base, also www.moorexposed.com which is given in the Hardylaw link.
Date: 1/13/2004 12:21:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62344    thanks for the links guys. I see now the things that are false. But the most important thing I got from the movie is undisputably correct. America is the gun murder capitol of the world. Why? (im not asking, different debate.)
Date: 1/13/2004 12:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 42247    I liked it but I did'nt it was to confusing for my brain... what little I have anyway... But yeah parts were good... Sweetness2002
Date: 1/13/2004 12:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 2030    I'd say other countries have a higher gun murder rate ( some Soviet satalite states, Brazil etc.)but they don't keep detailed records.
Date: 1/13/2004 12:53:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62344    maybe true but I still have the question in mind why do we have more gun deaths then any other first world country?
Date: 1/13/2004 12:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 27534    I am an avid shooter and not a member of the NRA.....I will say it was entertaining and thought provoking. I did enjoy it.
Date: 1/13/2004 1:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 62503    havent seen it.. ill have to check it out
Date: 1/13/2004 5:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 38601    I love this movie!! I only saw it once though...my boyfriend fell asleep cuz he'd seen it before, and it was his first time meeting my brother and my brother was not impressed, lol
Date: 1/14/2004 2:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 36901    I didn't like it at all. BCAR is right!
Date: 1/14/2004 6:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 2030    We do not have the highest per capita gun murder rate in the world. We may have the highest total number of gun murders of the handfull of so called "1st world" countries. But the reason behind it is varied. My opinion: Drugs (including the cocaine Mr. Moore openly admits buying, how many people got killed leading to his last purchase?), Other Crime, The breakdown of social and moral values, many things. Guns are just a tool, guns are not shooting people by themselves, there are vastly more responsible legal gun owners than criminals.
Date: 1/15/2004 3:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 20104    I hate Michael Moore. I thought it was an ok documentary, except for the fact that he was in it.
Date: 1/17/2004 7:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 42568    I haven't even heard of it... and from looking at the comments, I probably won't bother checking it out. lol.
Date: 6/20/2005 9:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 16376    I saw it twice on video. It was interesting I admit, the thing I didn't like though was I heard that when the film first came out to theaters, Moore invited the victims families to see it, but then wanted to charge them for admission. Interesting movie like I said, but I don't have any respect for him anymore after that.
Date: 10/20/2005 4:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 51292    I never saw this..I debated on renting it a time or two. Now I'm kinda glad I didn't LOL. I hate wasting my money on bad films. Thanks for the review!
