Micheal Moore is not a member of the NRA, it's just another in his litany of lies and half truths. Bowling for Columbine is anything but a documentary, the bulk of it is staged and most of the so called "interviews" are scripted. Take this movie for what it is - anti gun propaganda by a man (I use that word loosely) who is only interested in sensational movie making and his own fame and bank account. |

You can start at nra.org, also FOX news and Bill O'Reiley did a piece on it, as did "Access Hollywood" and "60 Minutes". |

There is in fact a movement calling for Moore to return his Oscar for documentary film making, because so much of it was invented. I doubt it will come to anything. I would say anyone who wants to see the movie should do so. Just keep in mind it is as much a documentary as "lord of the rings'. And honestly if you're interested in gun violence and honest statistics you should check out the NRA web site. They have some good information. They are very much for the enforcement of existing gun laws. |

thanks for the links guys. I see now the things that are false. But the most important thing I got from the movie is undisputably correct. America is the gun murder capitol of the world. Why? (im not asking, different debate.) |

I'd say other countries have a higher gun murder rate ( some Soviet satalite states, Brazil etc.)but they don't keep detailed records. |

We do not have the highest per capita gun murder rate in the world. We may have the highest total number of gun murders of the handfull of so called "1st world" countries. But the reason behind it is varied. My opinion: Drugs (including the cocaine Mr. Moore openly admits buying, how many people got killed leading to his last purchase?), Other Crime, The breakdown of social and moral values, many things. Guns are just a tool, guns are not shooting people by themselves, there are vastly more responsible legal gun owners than criminals. |

I saw it twice on video. It was interesting I admit, the thing I didn't like though was I heard that when the film first came out to theaters, Moore invited the victims families to see it, but then wanted to charge them for admission. Interesting movie like I said, but I don't have any respect for him anymore after that. |
