PROBLEM 1: I have been diagonosed (sp?) with depression, and have been put on several different medications. The only one that hasnt made me sick is the Wellbutrin SR, which I take twice a day. I dont notice any differance in my moods though. I still have my spells where I cry, and at other times I want to rip someones head off. I have been taking the Wellbutrin for 3 or 4 months now. I dont want the doctor to change my medication since I went through a lot of different ones that made me sick as a dog. How can I tell if these are the right pills for me?

PROBLEM 2: I have severe back and neck problems. I get monthly injections to take away the pain. The injections are steroids. Is this good to take steroids every month like this? Also the doctor has me taking morphine and fentanyl for the pain in between my shots. I tell him EVERY month that these are making me sick and he tells me EVERY month to keep taking them. Well last time I was there and I told him they are making me sick he upped my dosages. Now if they are making me sick why doesnt he just change the medication instead of having me take more of the medication that is making me sick? I was taking 50 mg of fentanyl and 15 mg of morphine. He now has me on the 50 mg of fentanyl but 30 mg of morphine. I know this medication probally has a lot to do with why I am depressed, but I am in so much pain everyday that I need something to take away the pain. How can I make this doctor change my perscription since it is making me so sick? And before you say well go to a different doctor, this is the only doctor who accepts the insurance I have so it would be kinda hard to go to a different Doctor.

Date: 1/13/2004 4:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    If the wellbutrin isn't working after 3 or 4 months then it's probably not the right med for you. I've been through tons of anti depressants and most made me sick. The last one was the worst, and that's when I decided to do without meds, not that I would reccommend that to you. It is best to follow what your doctor says and just keep trying to find the best medication for you.
