The Japanese horror movie is based off a novel, I think. Either way, I've never heard this "legend" or "true story." |

Yes its true, belive it or not its based on a Pokémon episode whcih gave sent hundreds of children to the hospital because of seizures (a number of them died). Subsequently, that particular episode was never released in the US. |

62249- No, it's not. Though that is a true case, The japanese novel was written long before the Pokemon franchise was developed. It is not based on any legends that I know of. There was a great site posted some time ago that told everything anyone would ever want to know about ANY of the movies, the books, and the Mangas (japanese comic books.) Ah, here it is - http://ringworld.somrux.com/faq2.htm - That one starts on the American version, but you can quickly and easily access anything you wish to know about the franchise. |

JRR Tolkien wrote The Ring Trilogy back in the 1930's as a fictional novel, but based the setting on places in Europe, and the general plot of the social structures of Europe. If you want to know of anymore truth that might be in it, I would go to the sites listed here and/or go to some with Tolkien info on it and read about how he wrote the stories. |
