What a touching and eye-opening tribute. I'm still wiping away tears as I write this. I too, can remember where I was that day. It was the day of the last attack my grandfather had at home before we put him in an assisted living facility, and my mom and uncle took him by ambulance to the hospital, and I was driving to therapy as news was gradually breaking in a flutter of chaos. Then I came home, and turned on the TV, and despite the horror of it all, was glued to it the rest of the day, with a box of Kleenex at my side, because despite the devastation of it all, I couldn't not watch. I just sat there and cried, watching history unfold, wishing this were a part of history I didn't have to witness...and praying for those who were there firsthand. I also remember the feeling of guilt, knowing that because of my health problems, I would be unable to rush to my nearest blood bank and donate...because I would have gladly donated as much as possible...not being able to do that made me feel somewhat helpless, but I did help out at our church's blood bank, serving the cookies and juice and attending to those who felt dizzy. So I felt like I made a contribution there. Thank you for sharing, Midnight Momma. We must never forget. The other thing I will never forget is (regardless of ones opinion of him, even though I personally support him) the sight of a president George W. Bush in tears as he addressed a shell-shocked nation...nothing more than the sight of those tears, the show of humanity and humility in front of the people he leads and governs, that he was not ashamed to cry with us and for us helped give me more respect for the man. May God Bless America, May We Never Forget...and May the Patritotism that brought this country together after this tragedy continue forever. --Christine-3 |

This is very moving. I know in school last year on 9/11 our English teacher put in a documentary of this and it was horrible to watch. So moving. |

The day this happened, I was in school, and I just felt chills when I heard the words "a plane hit the twin towers" the next year on that date, there was, unfortunately, no time to stop and remember...two kids planted bombs in the school and I spent the entire day outside, one went off in the main office, and another somewhere else...but last year, I did stop to remember. |
