In a darkened place, I laid to rest
all the fears of a useless past
To see the brighter future unfold
with the help of a few friends so bold

I forgot what fun and laughter was,
til you came and taught me how to trust
Til that time, all I could see
was the anger and hate that took seed

If not for the trust of you in me,
I would be wilted and broken like a dead tree
Your friendship flows like the water of life,

From wanting death to embrace me tight,
you pulled me through with your shining light
One so true and pure, it was like the sun
you have shown me the path I am now on

friends forever is now in time
For the truest of friends could not be seen
until they have met you and me
