Do my parents do this on purpose? ++Nimiwae++

It seems like whenever I get off th ephone with a friend, they try and start a fight with me and blame my behavior on my friend.

Take last night for example. I had just gotten off the phone with my friend and went to the kitchen and back in my room. My mom started yelling at me because I closed my door loud and my dad was sleeping. I tried to tell her it wasn't my fault, the door is very squeaky and if you don't put any force into closing it it own't close all the way.

Then she starts yelling that I do it on purpose every night, blah blah blah. So at that point I was mad so I was yelling. Then the next morning I caught her telling my dad I behaved that way because of the friend I was taking to. I don't get it!!

They will do this EVERY TIME I get off the phone w/ a friend or back form thier house. They'll start fighting w/ me and blame my behavior on my friends saying their bad influences. I just don't understand why they do this to me.

Date: 1/7/2004 1:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 19682    Mine did that to me and I find myself doing it to my child sometimes. I think your parents want you to behave the way they think you should and when you don't, they are afraid you are going to be influenced by the other kids if you know what I mean.

I think more it is fear that you will not be respectful. This is the way it was with me anyway. My mother never liked any of my friends. I like my child's friends but they do seem to get mischevious.

Date: 1/7/2004 3:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    how bout instead of fighting about the problem find a reasont to fix it... a little bit of oil or WD40 will take that squeak right out and allow it to open and close MUCH easier... then.. no more fight!
