Well, from my recent experiences, running far is not as good as stretching well and running short sprints to increase your speed, because doing that you stretch out your muscles which makes you faster, as opposed to running a mile or so at a time which cramps your muscles because you can't take the whole thing at the same stride if you're not in very good shape, so what I would recommend is running a good 40 yard sprint, take a few breaths, run the same distance backwards, stretch, then do it again, repeat about 5-6 times, or more if you like, and it should only take about 3-4 weeks to get some of your speed back, but I cannot stress how important it is to strecth before, after and between sprints. Hope I could help, Peace Love and Metallica - |
