Well not being Christian I'll do my best here lol! Christian faith is believing in Christ. Protestant covers a bunch of beliefs but mainly means not Catholic. Catholic is having a deep belief in the virgin mary, that the pope is god's choosen messenger, and that you have to do all sorts of rites and such to get to heaven, they also believe in purgatory and I dont think protestants do. |

Its not a matter of religion or churches hon, its a matter of your own personal relationship with our creator. That cant be found only in a church, it can be found with in you. |

The word protestant came from those that were protesting what the Catholic Church teaches. Infant baptism, praying to Mary, accepting the pope as God direct spokesman to man is just a few examples of what protestants protest (and rightly so). The Bible teaches that Jesus is the mediator between God and man, but the Cathoics want someone you can see and touch until Christ comes. The Catholics and protestants both believe they are "christians." But the christian name is given by God to those that obey the will of the Father and are those that have been added to the church of Christ by the Lord himself. So after you obey what you are told to do in the New Testament, Jesus will add you to his church, He will give you the name Christian, and by doing this you then will begin to have a relationship with the Lord, but not until after you are saved. Nikeinlogos, That is exactly what God's Word teaches. It seems that many believe they can borrow the name Christian without doing what God has told them they must do before they can truly put on that name. According to God's Word, there's a sad day coming when ALL will be judged according to the Word which He has given unto us. If we don't try to measure up now, we surely won't then. |
