Date: 1/5/2004 5:37:00 PM From Authorid: 54247 At age 72, I really have problems also. Especially during prayers that I have know since childhood. Seems to me there is something you can repeat several times and eventually come back to the concentration you are seeking. RAT |
Date: 1/5/2004 6:01:00 PM From Authorid: 57830 ha, sorry, can't help-one time though...this summer, during summer health-we had a student teacher, and she had us meditate, my friend, Gabi, and i were sittin' there, and we were laughing the whole time-it was so fun, the teacher was just like "Put all your thoughts in a basket" Well, gabi goes "i need another basket!" hahaha, and then the teacher says something like "Now, imagine yourself walking along a path in the woods...think about what you'd hear" and i go "Caw, Caw!" (like a bird) hahaha, it was great...dont think the teacher really appreciated us being like that, but it was hilarious -this is probably one of those moments where you would have had to have been there though |

Meditation is just a form of relaxation. I relax by riding horses. But my way of meditating is too imagine two bath tubs that are identical one labeled Negativity and the other Positivity, the Neg bathtub is over flowing with green muck and I need to lower it WHILE trying to over flow the positive with green muck. I keep the stuff filing up the tubs equal both filled with green muck and I just try to drain the negativty while I try and over flow the positivity. Hope this wasn't too confusing..lol. -des |
Date: 1/5/2004 7:58:00 PM From Authorid: 50678 Maybe Meditation isn't a good thing for you, when it comes to stress I think the best thing is a bubble bath, if you can treat yourself to a day spa, that would help, you just get a full body message. Stress can take you over, for what ever things you are stressed about you have to relax. Take a day for you, no worries. One day just leave your house and don't go back until that evening, go shopping, to a spa, a movie, dinner, to the mountians depending on where you live or even the ocean. Just leave for a day. That is what I think, Take a you day, when you get home that night you will fell more happy about yourself. Another thing if you do this, turn off you phone, cell phone and home phone when you are home. Just leave your worries behind and go back to them the next day with a clear mind. I wish you luck!! |

I just spotted your post before it went off the page. Just my contribution... Meditation in one easy lesson http://www.unsolvedmysteries.com/usm359048.html Go to this post. I'd just like to add that it takes work to get it right. Set a specific time each day to practice meditation, but throughout the day practice concentration. Look at something to the exclusion of all else. Choose anything and just concentrate on it. It doesn't have to have to be spiritual, it can be a discarded banana peel. Project yourself onto and into the object... till you feel you and the object are one. People say they never have time to do this, but if you really look at your personal use of time, you'll see how much time you actually don't use constructively. Go to the post... and let me know how you get on. |
