Christians- Where We Go When We Die! (KJ-52) TO CHRISTIANS!

I am posting this for Christians. No! If your not Christian, then dont believe it if you dont want to. I am talking to my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. I aint sending a message of hate to nobody.

Question: What happens to someone when they die? Will you go to heaven, hell, or purgatory?

Answer: This is a big and important question. I'll try and get right to the point about what the Bible teaches.

If a person has decided to trust in Jesus Christ with their whole person, with their head, heart, and hands, and they have put their faith in Jesus' death on the cross for the forgiveness of their sins, then the moment that their body dies, their spirit will go to be with God. Our bodies will remain here. Jesus tells the thief who gives his life to God on the cross that TODAY he would be with Jesus in paradise. (Luke 23:43).

There is no waiting period, spiritual sleep, or purgatory. No where in the Bible is the teaching of purgatory found. There is a Jewish history book from 200 BC (2 Maccabees) that makes reference to a military leader who prayed for the souls of his dead soldiers. It is from this passage that the idea of purgatory is wrongly based. If you had to go to purgatory to work off more of your sins, then Christ's death was not enough! The Bible says that Jesus covered it ALL. See also 2 Corinthians 5:8, and Philippians 1:23.

If someone has not accepted Jesus' payment for their sins, then the Bible teaches that they will need to pay the just price for their sins themselves. If a person dies without trusting in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, then their soul goes directly to eternal punishment. There is no second chance after death. See Luke 16:24-26 and Hebrews 9:27.

On the day of Christ's triumphal return, the bodies of the saints who had died will rise from the ground, be transformed, and be reunited with their spirits in the air as we descend with Christ. Those still on earth will be transformed and will rise to join Christ as he descends in glory.

The bodies of those that did not trust Christ will rise on the day of final judgment. They will be reunited with their souls, and they will then stand before God. See Matthew 25:31-46, John 5:28-29, Acts 24:15, and Revelation 20:12,15.

This is TOUGH stuff, and our response to these truths needs to be to TRUST in Jesus and plead with our friends and family to do the same.

How it changed my life:

Thats the answer

Date: 1/5/2004 11:21:00 AM  From Authorid: 160    Then why do the scriptures tell us that the wages that sin pays is death... period, once a person dies his sin is then paid in full. And you are not leaving room for a clear explanation of the resurrection that Jesus said would occur when "All those in the memorial tombs would hear his voice and come out to a resurrection" John 58,29 Do they go to heaven or hell first then come back to be resurrected? How much sence does that make? It makes more sence when you understand the condition of the dead and as the bible tells us the dead are conscious of nothing at all, in the day that they die their thoughts perish. Eccl.9:5,10
Date: 1/5/2004 11:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 62478    I have a question. And it is just that a question. I know Jesus was "the son of God", and he died and went to hell to pay for our sins. But he only went for a short time. Why is it that he could go to hell for a short time and pay for EVERYONES sins, but if you or I go we would spend all eterenity paying for just ours? .....deathletgo

That still puts a time limit on it. If that is true then why can't we got to Hell for a million years then be allowed to go to heven? ....deathletgo

Date: 1/5/2004 8:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    Pammy jo, you need to start to look at what part of the scriptures your talking about, now this one in John was BEFORE Jesus died and was raised. This is still talking underlaw, and at that point all would have to come forth from abrahams bosom. Those that did Good and those that did evil. Your forgetting that while Jesus was down for three days that he went and spoke to them and gave them the same choice we have. Those that believed and chose him, went with him. 1Pt:3:18: For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
1Pt:3:19: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
1Pt:30: Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."" The wages of sin is death. DEATH of the flesh, ,that does NOT mean his sins are paid in full. ONLY Jesus has paid our sins in full, and ONLY by believing that HE did that, and that he was Gods son that SHED his blood for us, only by doing what it says in romans, takes our sin away. Rom:10: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom:10:10: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.Mt:11: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.Jn:19: The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.""
Jesus takes away the sin of the world BEFORE death, but you have to belief and accept it. IF you dont, ,then YOUR choosing not to accept that he died for OUR sin.
