I see little kids in the store I work at who just DO NOT understand that they cannot have every single thing in the god forsaken store.. their moms are sitting there while they're screaming and throwing fits just saying "come on hunny pie, we can't afford that right now, no we can't!" all sweetly.. um.. what your kid needs is a slap in the face.. call me a cynic, but I don't tolerate brats.. I have to live with one and it's not fun. |

Well, Rika pretty much said what I was going to. You cannot reason with little kids because they DON'T GET IT. But they do understand a nice spanking. |

That's when you just pick him up and leave the store without buying squat. I remember when I was 2 or 3, I threw a fit in the grocery store and my mom told me to stop or she would take me home. Well I didn't stop, so she asked someone to watch her cart for her, and she picked me up and drove me home. Needless to say, I never acted up in a store again. Parents need to let their children know that THEY are the parents. You are the child, and you WILL NOT tell ME what to do. |

nice quick slap to the face...that's how my mom solved everything...either you actually thought betterof it or you were too shocked to do anything else |

I will be the first to say that my children are spoiled, but not to the point that they throw a fit if they don't get what they want. If they want something I try to do my best to get it for them, but if I can't or it takes time to save they are ok with that. I can't handle seeing kids in the store throwing fits, I just want to tell the parents to pick them up off of the floor, give them a good crack on the butt, take them home and put them to bed. Do that a few times they will get the point. |

nice slap in the face? I do not believe I just read that from you people....I don't approve of kids being spoiled til their rotten....I don't approve of them being brats and their parents not controlling them but news flash folks...slap your kid in the face and that's abuse... |

I am with you, Becky, but I don't think that a crack on the butt is abuse. If that is the only way to controll them. |

oh I'm fine with a few spankings here and there...but slapping a kid in the face? People even suggesting that just makes me sick... |

I'm with Becky, why is slapping a kid in the face considered the best punishment? Why would anyone slap a child in the face? Sorry but that isn't right. |

I have seen this happen all too often, Systym44. It's is a real shame how school changes some children. Big hugs. Take care. |

How old is your little brother? Usually going to school brings a different perspective to a child, simply that... they are given the awareness of a "bigger world". Is his school private or public? Again how old is he, and DO you really think a slap in the face is the answer? |

I don't agree with slapping a child, unless they were my teenager and mouthed back to me. However, I fully believe in spanking. I see no harm in that, and with some kids in some situations, it is completely necessary. |
