Hair dye help! ~Lucy Ricardo~

Hello everyone :)

I have a quick question that I was hoping someone here could solve for me. I am thinking about dying my hair again. I've never tried blonde, so I thought I might give that a shot. I'm wanting to go dirty blonde (since I really dont prefer the 'almost-white' type of blonde lol). I told my mom about this, and she said that it would make me look too 'washed up' because I have fair skin. Is that true? A lot of people that I have seen with fair skin and blonde hair look very pretty.

So, someone help me out...does blonde hair and fair skin not mix?

Love, Lucy Ricardo

Date: 1/3/2004 1:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 26049    well, yes and no. You don't want very light hair with light skin and you don't want it really dark either. I have light skin and "dirty blonde" hair in the summer and it looked pretty good. Good luck *hugs*

Date: 1/3/2004 3:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    as long as your hair isn't lighter then your skin... you know all the issues with going blonde right??
Date: 1/3/2004 3:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 10245    I've always been afraid to try being blonde for exactly that reason...
Date: 1/3/2004 4:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 5061    hey,i'am blonde,what reason,..look ya'll if there is something i need to know,"spill IT"..........jeanie/
Date: 1/3/2004 5:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    the issues, not with being blonde itself but the damage it will do to your hair and stuff? anything that will lighten your hair have chemicals to strip your hair of the colour... aka bleaching your hair, this will cause damage to your hair, also if you have other colours in your hair it will cause even more damage to your hair, lightening aka bleaching- strips your hair of the colour and can "fry" your hair.. this also doesn't even take in the factor of chlorine can make it go green and build up can make it go ashy... do consider all these things before you run out and strip all the colour out of your hair(expecially with a home kit)
Date: 1/3/2004 6:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 53013    I am fair skinned as well, and about 6 years ago I went with the dirty blonde look and everyone loved it. In fact my hubby and I were looking through my old pictures and he said I should go back to that look. It does damage your hair pretty bad, that's the only downfall.
Date: 1/3/2004 7:26:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 39370    Oh, ok. Well, thanks for the help everyone
Date: 1/5/2004 6:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 31048    I have pale skin and blonde hair! I wish I was darker though. But I think light skin and light hair looks good on a lot of people. Are you gonna dye your hair from a box or professionally?? Sometimes those boxed blonde haircolors look really bad...I've heard a lot of horror stories. Anyways, be careful and good luck
