Homework help please! =/ Honey Bubbles

I'm learning about "The Equidistance Theorems" in Geometry right now and i really don't get anything the book is telling me! I've read it over and over and tried doing the problems but end up getting stuck. Can anybody help explain the theorems or have any sites they recommend that is on that topic or on geometry in general?

The theorems the book said were:

1. If 2 points are each equidistant from the end points of a segment, then the two points determine the perpendicular bisector of that segment.

2. If a point is on the perpendicular bisector of a segment, then it is equidistant from the endpoints of that segment.

Any help is appreciated. thank u!! =D

Date: 1/3/2004 1:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 6860    I know what this means, but its very hard for me to explain. Basically if you have to points like this . . Then the point that is in between them (equally or equidistant) will determine the perpendicular bisector, which is the imaginary line between the two points, which bisects them, or cuts through them equally. So in essense, you have what looks like a plus sign. If a point is on this imaginary line, then the point is the same distance from the two points. Hope that explains it, if not IM me on AIM on the sn Persephone403. I'll try to explain it better there. Good luck!
