The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom opens with the death of 83 year old Eddie a life long employee of a small time amusement park. Eddie is killed in a freak accident at the park he has worked at all his life. The basis of the book is the the first step in heaven is learning why you lived and to learn this you must meet five people who have effected your life in one way or another. And you may or may not know them. As Eddie progress from person to person he sees why his life turned out as it is and by the fifth and final meeting understands why he lived and died. I found this book very interesting. I am real interested in the whole premise of the book about death and "heaven" being and understanding of ones life and why a person lived. The Five People You Meet In Heaven is a short book only 196 pages, but a very interesting and thought provoking book. I higly recommend reading this gem. It would also be a great book for a discussion group. As differing points of view about the book and its ideas could get a very interesting discussion going

Date: 1/2/2004 10:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 12341    I like your review, sounds like one I will definitely read soon. Although it does sound similar to Alice Sebold's, "The Lovely Bones". That one will stay with me for a long time.
