So lately I've been thinking that I want to teach middle/high school english or history, I was wondering what the usual requirements are for being a teacher on that level. If anyone can help please do so, I need as much help as I can get with this, because I am really interested. Thanks.

Date: 1/2/2004 1:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 44850    you just need a degree ... i would suggest talking to a counselor, there are different programs schools are offering to expedite the process, and furthermore, some states are trying to pass laws that forgive student loans if the person gets an education with the interest of teaching.

Some states require an education degree, in some you need to acquire a teaching certificate (I believe that means you take a test to see if you are qualified). Beyond educational means, teachers of that age group need patience, a strong fortitude, and a sense of humor, IMHO. Good luck in this. I really feel teachers are a specail group of people. God Bless.

Date: 1/2/2004 6:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 11240    No, Neptune. We can all safely assume you are not a teacher, right? LOL. "California has just made the criteria more strict" would be a sentence that conveyed the meaning you are looking for. (Oops, ended my sentence in a preposition which I am prone to do God Bless.

Date: 1/3/2004 9:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 11240    I taught adults and it was a good level for me, but my kids are in that age group. God Bless.
