Nothing. They are just doing their jobs. Your brother is a case of mistaken identity which happens. Having the alarm at a store go off and being stopped by a security office isn't a big deal. Clerks make mistakes by not swiping or removing security tags. The door things at Walmart go off all the time and people don't even pay attention to it anymore. |

I have had that happen to me in the past. Usually the employee's or manager would be red-faced after I fully co-operated and allowed them to examine whatever it was they thought I took. I kept silent and allowed them to embarass themselves, because I knew that in the end they would realize the mistake they made. What made it worse for them was when they also found the register reciept. If they apologize for their error, then I am ok with it. But one should never be handled in a rough manner if you acted civil towards them. Then you may consider calling the main office to talk with the superiors who run the store. Hope this helps. |

Azairyia....I know that they were just doing their job. But I think that the manger shouldn't of acted the way she did. Even though it's been years, I'm stiil pissed about what happened. |

Hey Larry...The manager didn't even apologize to us for the mistake, which was anothing thing that got me mad. Same with the worker that grabbed my shopping bag away from me. I had my reciept with me in that bag and she looked at it. I told that the other store must of forgot to take off the tag and she just walked back into the store. It's been years since this took place, but it still gets to me. |

PSC, I understand how you feel. In the future should something like this occur, and after the store realizes that they were in the wrong, they should offer an apology. People do make mistakes. But rest assured that no company wants to get a phone call, e-mail, or letter stating how one might have been treated rudely. If that happens to you again, try calling the district office. |

Hey Larry....I will be sure to do that if that happens to me again. I know people make mistakes and they're just doindg their job which is a good thing making sure that someone isn't stealing. |

HAHAAAA they can't get meeee, 'cause look at me! i'm legit!!"... ehhehehe ok now i'm just being silly. =) |

Oh yeah! I feel like Vivian in Pretty Woman sometimes in that snooty patooty dress shop, it's just my appearance I guess? Well in my class there is this really annoying girl, a rich girl (here I am 26, sounding all high school) and she accused me of stealing her eraser (it was a Scene Design class) and I about fell off my stool when the teacher came and gave it to her, he had borrowed it. The accusation was worth it just to have it blow up in her face like that. |

I've been busted for it too. If you get the feeling that you're getting some kind of unwanted attention, walk out of the store. You don't need to be taking that kind of bull kaka when you know yourself that you're an honest person, and screw their services if they are visually harrassin' you like that. Also try walking out suspiciously... perhaps when you are 5 or 10 feet away coming out of the store, suddenly dash away in one direction and make it look like you have a whole bunch of merch stolen. Or if you feel like you're being watched, watch them. If you catch them looking, make it appear as though you are slipping some products into your jacket or something. It gets the employees all freaked out and when you walk out of the store they will be surprised to see that the alarm didn't go off... they may even stop you then if it doesn't go off.. oh what joy. hehe. |

Yes, me and my friend got accused of stealing from CVS. Only because we went in there one time, and we didnt buy anything. They must have asked someone that knew us, what our names were. They had every employee in the store watch our every move. I was sooo mad! |

I've probably set off the alarms at FYE more times than I could count. They NEVER take the security things off it seems .. Or, If you walk in FYE with CD's from Circuit City .. They will go off. I've also set the alarms off at Walmart once or twice. But never because I was stealing. I hate when people accuse people or suspect them of stealing because of the way somoene looks. My brother went to this store in town, that sells hunting stuff and outerwear. And he was followed the whole time he was there. We called back to tell them that because of their rude employee's we would never buy anything from thier store again. |

Barbie...One time I bought a necklace from this one store and I went back to that store weeks later to go shopping in there again. One of the workers looked at my necklace and asked me if I was planning on buying my necklace and I told her that I already bought it weeks ago. |

I am the type of guy that gets accused just because I fit the "Profile". I look like the "type" that would do something like that. I was told that once by a security guy at a store once. He had followed me from one end to another and I confronted him when I kept seeing him peeking around corners and through clothes display. Seems they just look at someone and based on the appearance they automatically accuse them. It seems like everytime I go to Wally World they intercom and say all zones on full defense or camera on certain isle or something. You know its bad when you and two other customers are the only ones in the store. And they are in wheelchairs at that. |

SmoknJoe...That's not cool. I've never had a security guard follow me around, not that I know of that is. I think that people shouldn't accused if they're dressed in a certain way or whatever...it should be everyone. I mean, elderly people, children, teens, adults and whomever can steal and some people don't accuse people like them...like elderly folks or even children. Know what I'm trying to say? |
