Loose clothes are fine but when you have to hold them up with one hand then maybe the style needs to be changed. I aree with you and thanks Lighthouse for replying. |

Nice Sterotype Lighthouse.. not. A lot of my friends and I, and many others who go to my school wear their pants long, not long long mind you, like we wear the..take for exapmle the Addias superstar shoe, its a sneaker and we wear our pants to cover the lace part but not cover the whole shoe. I guess you could say that the 'length' that is in is : Make sure you can't see your socks ,but that you can see some part of the shoe. . I hope you get what I am saying! hehe |

That's the length I like too Cujo and never liked what they called "waders". I also was floored by the prices of the clothes too! How do stores expect people to pay $40.00 for a pair of pants? What happened? |

Clothes are terrible in price. Sometimes helps to check out thrift stores and yard sales. As for the length, I have the same problem. I guess better long than too short. Happy New Year and happy clothes hunting! |

I think the pants are made for the shoes now days, its a trip to see people wearing things we made fun of in school cause we had to wear them kids...try looking for Tommy Hilfigure pants, and also Calvin Kleins, a lot of times you can find them that are sized like mens, by the waist and pant length, 30 x 30. I am 5'5 am have a difficult time with the length of pants too. |

I have the same problem Sis, although one of the stores over here seem to have the right size in length for my jeans, but their other long pants are way too long for me, I'm only 5'2" my daughter who is 5'10" has to get a much larger size pants or jeans just for the length to fit her, then have them taken in for the body size, its crazy the way clothes are made today.....good post Sis.....hugs |

Penny, My Mom always has that problem she is only 5'2 and she always has to cut and hem her pants even those sold in "woman" sizes. Las t Summer when she went looking for capris for our trip all the capris looked like regular pants on her. She usually buys them to fit the rest of her and cuts and hems them. And she rarely wears heeels. She has diabetes and has problems with her feet as it is |

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and ideas about the clothing. I'm glad to know that it isn't just me seeing this clothing change either. I was watching the grandkids play at the mall play center and noticed all the little girls from ages around 2 on up to at least 7 pants were extra long while the boys in the same age groups pants were just the right length. Makes you wonder doesn't it? |

I have found in the petite jeans you have to go 2 sizes bigger than what you normally wear. |

I found this stuff called liquid stitch and also something you iron on to hem the slacks. It's faster than sewing and works okay. I guess the slacks are longer because platform shoes and heels are back in style. |
