Perhaps it is a bit hypocritical but try to see it from her point of view. She might could accept a gay pastor as a person, but how could she accept him as a spiritual leader who is openly ''living in sin'' per se. However; I do have to say this. Just because a person sins does not mean that they are not a Christian nor know/teach/understand the true meaning and what not. |

i agree with SandGhost... your pastor is supposed to be leading you spiritually. Everyone sins, even pastors, but their are supposed to be closer to God than normal folks (from my understanding). And how would it be for say, the pastor to tell you you need to quit drinking (just an example not talking about the author!) becuase its a sin, but he is gay and sinning, too? He would be the hypocrite. |

the idea of going to church is to pray to God isnt it...what difference does it make who is presiding over the sermon...really, now the thing that irks me, is the Priests who preached holier than thou sermons and molested little children, now thats a good reason not to attend that particular church...just my opinion for what its worth....hugs |

Whoa, I think this is a definately deep topic, one I think that each person has to think about and make up their own mind about...Everyone is entiled to their oppinnion, and we can still love them but that doesnt have to mean we have to agree with them.....Your friend feels the way she does, and that is just her belief and feelings, doesnt make her anymore wrong than that of a gay pastor, true tolerance is also excepting that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, morals and a right to live their life as the choose...We dont have to agree, and we shouldnt agree on everything, that is what makes each of us different....>>>>>>> tamara |

in the bible it says marrige is something for a man and woman to share.it doesnt say anything about being gay being a wrong thing but then again it doesnt say its right. With all the things going on some parents probly wouldnt feel comfortable with there children around somone that might do bad things. |

You know we should appreciate when people admit and are honest about their choices. I don't think I would endorse or applaud such a choice. But, over the years, I have known some very good people who have odd lifestyles. Was furious at the ones who were violent and hurt others. God knows the answer and there must be a way to reach that population. Tamara, thank you for your comments! I agree with you dear! RAT |

thats one of the aspects of religion that upsets me. Arent religions supposed to be tolerant of everyone? If she was so into her religion she would not be ashamed of a person who would be leading her down a religous path. hmm i have a lot to say on this topic but im gonna stop here lol |
