What type are you getting? I've always heard that spirals are the best |

Probably the reason it didn't hold for long is because of the weight of the hair. A body perm which is Purple rods or larger will give you a softer and bigger curl. Grey rods and down will give you a tighter curl, which might last longer than a body perm. Depending on the length of your hair, there are different ways to roll the perm rod. Such as with long hair, a piggy back perm is really the best and if really long the only way to go. A Spiral wrap is good and can be used on medium to long (not to long) hair. You don't NEED to use special shampoo, but they DO help. Even if it says "For chemically treated hair" and you use them the same as you would any other shampoo (Unless noted other wise on the directions). I always favor Mousse for perms as well for my hair (I have naturally curly hair) However, for a wet look, Gel would probably give you the look you want. The only bad part with some mousse and gel, is it makes your hair stiff. You CAN pull your hair back while you are at work, but I wouldn't pull it very tight. After awhile it more than likely will start to take the perm out on top. |

I dont know how things work wherever you live hun, but over here in Australia, if the perm only lasted 2 weeks, you go back to them and they re-do it, my goodness for that price you had to pay I'd definately go back....I use a shampoo for dyed and permed hair, even though mine is not permed, I still dye it, and I use it just like any ordinary shampoo.....hugs |

DON'T DO IT! Perms are so dated and soooo old-lady-ish. But I'm speaking from experience of having naturally curly hair and let me tell you: it ain't pretty! Ahhh...thank heaven for flat irons, products, and blow-driers. |
