Finishing his barrier Dam slowly closed his eyes for a moment and when he opened them he wasn't in his dimension but at his old home on Earth and being startled he jumped up having his normal strength back and in his old body things weren't making sense. He glanced around and in the corner Melanie was standing, her small frame hugging herself as she wore his old flannel shirt and a pair of her favorite jeans. "You were out for a while, lost in yourself and you just woke up", she quietly said and walked towards him, "I helped awaken you but I am afraid that I was of little help, just look, my powers are well not as good as they used to be."

Dam slowly looked back down to see his body as it was before he closed his eyes. "This is a dream isn't it...", Dam whispered.

"Yes and no, I am channeling myself through your dreams so we can talk. You see I have one more chance to come back but to do so I need a chance to possess someone and you were the only one I can. Unless you are far more powerful than I, like you, you can't possess anyone except those who held you closest to their heart and still do." Melanie slowly explained and sat down next to Dam.

Dam immediately knew what to do, he had to let Melanie use his body so she could come back, "What is the catch", Dam questioned as he looked down at his tattered body.

"Well, I... I mean it might kill you and you will lose half of the strength you are at when I perform the spell, if you survive it", she explained as easily as possible.

"No question about it, you can do it, just say this phrase before you perform the spell and when it is done we will be stronger than I was before this happened to me", he said as he scribbled down the words 'Strength of the Earth, Power of the Water, Spirit of the Sky I give you all my superfluous Magick', "Okay, I am ready see you soon."

Suddenly Dams body bolted upright and white light exploded out of his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth and then laid back down. Stirring slightly then slowly raising up he felt disconnected to himself but connected to Melanie. Her voice calmly said to him in a bizarre echolike tone, "Don’t worry I here, I will be quick. I don't think I can stand the pain for long."

He felt his body stand and begin to walk around slowly and he then mumbled a spell and soon felt all the pain come back to him, "What just happened, Dam. Why do I feel no pain?", Melanie asked sounding worried.

"I have it now, I withstood it before and I can do it again. Just hurry...", Dam broke off and began to fight the pain.

Knowing she couldn't take long she gathered the needed ingrediants and taking a few steps back slowly whispered the words Dam had told her to. She fell and feeling much weaker than before she climbed to her feet clumsily, she still was a stranger in another's body and couldn't control it as well as her own. She stumbled back to the mixture and slowly began to chant her spell. The room began to spin fast and increased spinning faster and faster, Melanie grabbed the drink and downed it and fell to the ground and passed out.

Slowly Dam opened his eyes and looked over, to see Melanie passed out next to him. He leaned up and still in pain slowly dragged her to the bed and let her lay on it and he leaned against the bed and waited for Slayer to return.
