I met my boyfriend on Christmas eve, after a hectic day of finishing the scrapbook I was working on for him, full of things we'd done together, including the pages where we'd first 'met', through the internet dating service. I even included our favorite places to eat, all the places we went on his recent vacation, our first Thanksgiving, and room for us to fill in for New Years Eve.
Then when we got back here, as he was spending the night, we wrapped presents, then decorated my little tree together, as I had another little surprise for him, a wooden heart I had purchased at the craft store I had bought, stained, and used a glitter pen to write our names on one side and the year on the other. Plus I did the same with our stockings, writing our names on them...(its amazing what nice purchases one can find at the Dollar Tree, LOL).
After all the decorating was done, we snuggled under the covers for awhile until it was time to go to our seperate sleeping quarters...(as we're not married, and this is my parents house, even though we are waiting, my parents rules do apply, so we follow them to the letter).
The next morning, we went upstairs to see my parents, had breakfast with them, then opened gifts, my boyfriend, Joe, gave me a ring...to show his friendship, love, and devotion to me. Some would call it a couple's ring, I suppose. It is two hearts, intertwined, with his birthstone in the center of one heart, and my birthstone in the center of the other. Also the hearts are raised slightly, and written sideways if you hold the ring upright, you can read the word, "Love". He also bought me 2 DVD's, and a book that I had been wanting. I got him Chocolate Covered Pretzels (his favorite), a new wallet, a book on the Twilight Zone, The Scrapbook, Polo Sport Cologne...then for his stocking: mini Reeses cups, two books of bus tickets, gum... LOL...thought I was gonna get clobbered for spoiling him.
Later that day we went to his family's house, as we had been to my grandma's the night before...and then Friday we just rested. Looking forward to ringing our first New Year in together now. Just had to share my happy tale. Thanks to all who 'listened'. :)
*Wanted to update to all who read this, even if I had not recieved any presents at all, I still would not have cared, just being with my family, my grandparents, parents, and the man I love, who I'm already starting to consider family (and the fact that after meeting me only once, his family is starting to accept me as their family) was enough. The other stuff is all just material...Being in my man's arms when the clock struck 12 on Christmas eve was the greatest present a girl could ask for* You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 62408 ( Click here )
