I want to try out for my school's production of MacBeth, and we need a Shakespearean monologue that's 1-2 minutes long. I was wondering if anyone here can think of one I could use, because the character I want to use, "Beatrice" from Much Ado About Nothing, doesn't have long enough monlogues. Any help would be appreciated!

Date: 12/20/2003 2:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 39370    Sorry, but I cant really help you. I'm not really into Shakesspearean stuff. Maybe you could find something from the play "A Mid Summer's Night Dream". One of the Pyramus or Thisbe skits? I know some of the lines, the only bad thing is...the only reason I know them is because of a comedy play that The Beatles did back in 1964 lol. So, I dont think my lines would be much help. Not only would be mixed up, but they'd have more of a Liverpool effect than a Shakespearean lol. The only thing I can think of is to do a search on Google.com. Sorry again

Date: 12/20/2003 2:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    and remember if you show up in character and costume it shows you put much more effort into it and are serious about it and it will also be harder to break character

Date: 12/20/2003 5:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 39370    Oh, I'd also take Midnightly's advice on staying away from Romeo and Juliet. Since I'm sure a ton of people will be trying that one. But, yeah, the Beatles did do a short play on that. It was funny because John Lennon was playing Thisbe lol. If by any chance you ever want to watch it (dont know if you will, but just in case lol), they have one of those really cheap, $5 DVDs of them, and it's called "Fun with the Fab Four". Plus I'm sure you could download it somewhere off the internet. A good thing to watch if youre either a Beatle or Shakespear fan
