Most automotive stores, tool stores and even Dept stores have some selection of Auto Accessories. I will withhold comments on the 'rice' value of the aforementioned accessories...nah, can't do it, sorry: *cue anti-Rice rant* Pleeeeeease...please...just say NO to car seat covers, steering wheel covers and ricey floor-mats. Save up and go with actual Sports Seats, Sports steering wheels...do NOT under any circumstances get neon under-car lighting...Altezza clear lights...C-West Wings (especially not on a front-wheel drive)...blue dash lights...glowing tyre-valve caps...stickers for performance parts your car doesn't actually have...ANY form of Type-R sticker or product...ridiculous flame decals...decal bullet holes...Vielside anything...bonnet scoops that don't feed air anywhere or do anything...fake carbon-fibre bonnet-coverings...huge rear mufflers that could double as a dog-kennel...or big crazy blinging chromies. *end anti-Rice rant* K...thanks...feel much better now...hehehe. Peace, |

I totally have to agree with Agent Smith with a few things, and I have to disagree with a few. I saw a lot of neat things on e-bay under automotive stuff, like the under car lights, and all the other cool things. I think undercar light are totally killer, but you need the car for it. Pontiacs are nice, the nice sporty cars... a mini-van with undercar lights, Nuh-uh. Depending on the car seat covers, if they match well, go ahead. the sheep wool covers are totally lame. Same with steering wheel covers, and floor mats. Floor mats are there to collect the dirt from your shoes, not to look pretty. But why not go with the neon under car lighting? Can you explain that for me? Im just curious. What are Altezza clear lights and C-West Wings?? I think blue dash lights are killer, but I dont know how well I coud see deer at night with those. I didn't even know they made glowing tyre-valve caps. I totally have to agree with stickers for performance parts your car doesn't actually have. I dont have any stickers on my car of any type. I have a sharkie in my window that I made, and he is easy removal. I totally agree also with any form of Type-R sticker or product...ridiculous flame decals...decal bullet holes. What are Vielside things...bonnet scoops ...fake carbon-fibre bonnet-coverings?? I think huge rear mufflers are for big huge trucks.. not a car. I like bling bling chrome things. I am a chrome freak. They just have to go with the right car... Love ya tonz |

Hi Buffy771, k...I'll explain a few of those things a bit: Why not undercar neons? Coz they are past being trendy and now every man and his dog has a set of neons...and most of the neons I see are on cars which just look bleeeh with them. Less is more these days. Most Car Shows are displaying superclean rides which are now moving back to the basics...make your car clean and straight...deep monochromatic paints...few now feature the high-glossed, high-priced flip-flops or candied sparkly prismatique paintjobs. Few feature custom graphics...at least the last two major Car Shows I attended and competed in. I've been through the phases of creating some pretty eye-popping custom rides, sinking gawd-awful amounts into the flashy details, wild bodykits, chromed out everything and huge chromed alloys...my last two Show Cars were heavy on the eye-candy and in all honesty were just overdone...they won awards yes, but functionality suffered...as you were just too paranoid to even drive the dang things through fear of getting them dirty or - heaven forbid - scratched. Huge spoliers, like the C-West Wings...which are those large rear 'Combat' flat-wing spoilers similar to those featured on Fast and the Furious...are thankfully becoming a rarity in the Car Show scene. They have had their time...and when placed on front-wheel drive cars are just there for little more that 'wanna-be racer' value...as the principle of a rear-wing is to provide downforce to the rear, increasing grip and stability, which is a requirement of most REAR-wheel drive cars. A rear-wing on a front-wheel drive does little more than throw out the handling balance, move wieght distribution (via airpressure/downforce) to the rear and thus lift it from the front of the vehicle...which in a front-wheel drive car is where you need to have the majority of your weight distribution, to keep the front-wheels hard down on the road, on your drive wheels, and so benefitting handling via allowing the drive power to get to the ground easier. There are a few FWD race cars with large wings...such as the British Touring Car Championship cars...though their wings are more about aiding stability in a frightingly light and over-powered sportscar which can get sideways with little provocation...certainly not something most streetcars need be concerned with. Altezza Clear Lights: Clear lens for backlights, also some indicators...again a rice-crime shown in Fast and the Furious. The name comes from the clear-lens released on the Toyota IS200 Altezza, from that model on these lights just seemed to grow in popularity, now I see them on everything including Courier Vans...eeeeeeeew...Altezza lights MUST die...just too showy. Though again I'll admit to having had Altezzas in my last showcar...but then they were actually trendy at the time, now, they are just too bleeeeeh/common. Veilside = Producer of some pretty eye-popping bodykits...most commonly known for front nose-cones on cars...bit too 'Batman', again, they were once cool...now they are just too bleeeeeeeh. Bonnet Scoops: Just that...air scoops which are to feed air, normally into an airbox for the filter or to blow it directly over the engine. More common are bonnet vents...just openings to allow hot air to rise out of the enginebay and thus reduce heat-soak and intake temperatures = more power (generally). Fake carbon-fibre bonnet covers: Large sticker decals which look like carbon-fibre...carbon fibre bonnets are featured on a number of race-cars, as carbon fibre is incredibly light, strong, and dissipates heat well...carbon fibre bonnets are also incredible expensive...so some people cover their bonnets in fake 'carbon fibre' coverings...to make them look like carbon fibre...meh, why bother, just looks tacky. And thats the main thing...too much 'bling-bling' is just tacky. Smooth clean lines are class. Stick with class. My current car is a white Mitsubishi Lancer EVO5, which apart from a set of aftermarket alloys (18" Tarmac EVOs, in white), custom low 'coil-over' adjustable suspension, carbon-fibre/kevlar race-seats and wheel *and a few extra gauges/boost controller etc*, sound system and a number of engine mods is just factory, immaculate and straight...still even has the factory body-kit...and it looks like class. Whereas my last Showcar was an EVO3, blinged out to the max, and now that just looks tacky in comparison. K...end rant |

Holy crap.. I didn't expect such long replies on this post.. lmao.. but it's cool. Thanks for looking out for me Agent Smith. haha.. don't worry, my car won't look tacky or anything and I'm not a "bling bling" kinda girl.. and don't worry.. ABSOLUTELY NO undercar lights for me. I'll take a pic of the car when it's finished.. by the way, I'm getting a black 2001 Volkswagon Jetta. If you wanna see a pic of the actual car I'm getting, message me. |
