Michael Jackson's Parents: We May Adopt His Kids

This was the first thing I saw when I logged online today, and I wasn't altogether sure if I should put it in the news section or the horror section. To make my *OPINION* clear, I do believe that he is guilty of the accusations against him. However, I also believe that he is a very troubled man, most likely do to the fact that he was robbed of a childhood himself, the childhood he did have (with the accusations of beatings and abuse from his father), and that may be why he has tried so hard to change his image so much, to escape the memories. I also feel that somehow, that may be why he feels he can relate to kids, because perhaps in reality, that is in fact what he is, a kid trapped in the body of a 40-something year old man. But that does not make what he did right, if in fact he is guilty. I do not find it proper for any man to sleep with boys in his bed, no matter how innocent the intentions, and while I know that he does love his children, I think he is a bit obsessed about them in keeping their faces hidden, and has made poor decisions. However, if he were to lose them to his parents, I think that would be the final straw for this man. Granted losing them to foster care would be bad enough, but given what he went through with his parents, the mere thought of his own children going through that, I fear that would be his undoing. I am not a Michael Jackson supporter, but I also do not feel that his parents would be the best choice as secondary caretakers for the children, either.

Here is the news article I found on CNN.com: http://www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/Music/12/12/jackson.parents/index.html

Date: 12/13/2003 9:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 59876    i wold hope that if his parents are questionable in their ability to raise his kids in a safe environment, that cps will take a hand in it.
Date: 12/13/2003 10:15:00 AM  From Authorid: 10798    I prefer to think of people as innocent until proven guilty in all cases. Most people already make their judgements before all the facts are even in. As for Michael...well, I think he is a very unique individual, very immature and childlike and I think that's why he likes to surround himself with children. In my heart I just don't believe he's guilty.
Date: 12/14/2003 5:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 54461    I think Michael Jackson should keep his children. Who would want to lose there kids?
Date: 12/14/2003 2:31:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62408    Songbird, I agree that he is immature and childlike in nature, somehow in a way that perhaps psychaitrist would diagnose a Peter-Pan syndrome (Perhaps hence the reason of naming his ranch Neverland). He never really got the chance for a 'normal' childhood, as he was in the public spotlight from a very young age, the very reason he most likely shields his children from it, but to yet another obsessive extreme. Either way, I don't think it healthy. And regardless of the molestation accusations being true or not, its the fact of a grown man allowing young boys to sleep in his bed (who are not related to him) <granted, the parents of the children should also take equal responsibility> that I find so upsetting and bothersome. It just doesn't seem right. I know that if I had a young son, I wouldn't want him to do that, regardless of any prior accusations, celerbrity status, etc. That's the only point I am trying to make. But I also know that MJ dotes on his children, and if they were taken away from him for any reason whatsoever, it would be his undoing...because despite all his oddities, he does love them...but I don't think it would be right for his parents to gain custody either, given the many stories of the Jackson children's childhood. Granted, I'm sure CPS would intervene, but in Hollywood, sadly, money can buy anything.
Date: 12/18/2003 11:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 62275    I think the statement about Michael being disturbed is an understatement. If someone can spend their whole lives trying to look like someone else, go to the point that their nose is so misshapen and apparently fake to find a sense of self worth, that there is DEFINATELY a problem! He's made his fortune off of pretending he was someone else. And if he did do what he was accused of doing, I really feel for the kids, and his own kids as well. In my opinion, no one can be accused of something so many times, and it always be a lie. Something just doesn't add up to me. ~*Firefly*~
