He does seem like someone too, it's a weird feeling isn't it. I know when he passes they will definately mention his marriages and his movies when he was younger, who was his frequent costar, was it Judy Garland? |

It's unbelieveable how many people died this year! Sad, too. The Jonathan Brandis and John Ritter were totally unexpected. I didn't expect Ritter to go for another forty to fifty years and I thought Jonathan Brandis would be around a lot longer. Guess you don't realize how important someone is in the society till they're gone. |

Walter Matthau (sp?)...my 3rd cousin--John Ritter...the wizard from Harry Potter, Johnny Cash...his wife...the journalist who died overseas...and more I'm sure. I know Luther Van Dross isn't in good health...but peeps die everyday, so I'm sure the heartache will continue. I will never forget when Ricky Nelson died...I am pretty sure we were celebrating my birthday, but I could be wrong, after all it was like 4th or 5th grade...Conway Twitty died my junior year...I dedicated 2 whole pages of my scrapbook to him...and when Jimmy Stewart (my fav. actor) died, almost 7 years ago, my oldest son was just an infant. Good post! |

sorry, I must have missed your mention of John. I never got to meet him, but was so proud to be a part of the same family tree. My dad said his father, Tex Ritter came to a family reunion when dad was like 5-6, but they moved to California not long after. The Ritter name is still real big in Beaumont, TX...his relations own a lumber company and I know a few are active politicians as well. |

Hi, B. Monkey I like Donald Sutherland in "Mash" and that other war movie where he plays Odd-Ball, the hip tank commander. Christopher Lee played a good Sauroman. He just looks the part. Delightfully wicked, that one...Rodney Dangerfield cracks me up, bigtime. I liked him in "Caddyshack."..."Last time I say a mouth like that, it had a hook in it."..lol..Thanks for the memories, B. Monkey..Write on... |

I'm not saying it because he recently past, but John Ritter was my favorite television actor of all time. My 2nd favorite is Sherman Hemsley. My favorite TV actress of alltime, I think she needs to rethink her career choices lately though is Kirstie Alley. Ritter was really talented, my favorite role of his was IT. His son is continuing on in his legacy. I saw him in Freddy V. Jason. I'm sorry about your loss. |

Kelly's Heroes! My dad made me watch that when I was younger. I've gone by Ginny my whole life, the nickname of my middle name, but my first name is Kelly. My dad is a Eastwood fan and thought I'd like it b/c of the name thing. I remember Rickles in there but forgot about Donald in there! I love his voice more than anything. Caddyshack! I must say he is my favorite in that movie, I loved the rivalry between him and Ted Knight (who coincidentally passed one year on my birthday) |

Creepy Freak, it's weird, but it just makes you wish that they'd say something you know? About Brandis. I wish that he could just say to someone I'm thinking of doing something stupid, please stop me..... John Ritter, another thing about him, is he always had the same look, I guess the more I think about it I can't really imagine him being older, isn't that really strange. |

SpaceCase, Elvis left a strange impact on my life. I was born 10 days after his death and I always know my birthday is around the corner when a bunch of Presley movies are on and there is some random newscaster who says 'it's hard to believe (in 04' it'll be 27) it's been 27 years that Elvis has left the building. So I always know when it's time for me to get older. |

you mean to tell me Elvis was still living when I was born...good grief, I didn't know that!! As for John, I had a deep admiration for him for the roles he chose and how he supported his brother. And I did cry and cry...I couldn't believe he passed away so early! My heart ached for his wife and daughter, his mother and brother..and then his mom passed away. And who I meant up there was June Carter. Thank you B. Monkey for your kind words, but it was way less my loss than the whole world's loss. When I found out that he and Johnny Cash (a life-long hero) passed on 9-11, I felt like another set of twin towers crumbled. |

I kind of got the feeling that Johnny would chase June into heaven, so I wasn't too shocked, I thought it was actually cute. That he had passed so soon after her, almost as if he was trying to catch up to her there. I really loved his voice. John Ritter was quite a shock though, I though of another movie I really liked him in. I didn't watch 8 Simple Rules, he was my favorite TV actor (more for Three's Company than anything!) and he did lots of good made for TV movies, and I really like the one that he did with Katey Sagal, who plays the wife on 8... it was where they are forced to live with each other and they fall in love. |

Ritter's was a shock more because of his age, some of the others like Hepburn and such you figure, we all have to go sometime, but when it's at a younger age it's a different impact. I'm affected a lot by Brandis's because he was only a year older! Says alot about my mortality, even though he took his own life. |

Hey B.Monk!! I don't know if some of these people are still with us, but I know they are getting up there in years. I was thinking about Ronald Reagan, Joey Bishop, Tony Curtis, Carol Channing, Marlon Brando, and Johnny Carson. |

The deaths of Johnny Cash and John Ritter were a shock to me, only because I had a night of insomnia that night and was still lying awake, and in a matter of less than three minutes or so, both deaths were reported on the radio... then not much time passes, and we learn of Jonathan Brandis' suicide. But I think what got me the most is that so shortly before his death, Johnny Cash released the video of "Hurt"...if ever a video can bring me goosebumps and tears to my eyes, it is that one. I don't care if you're a country music fan or not, that one will leave you literally feeling his pain. As for celebrities I think may follow in the near future, I would have to guess: Ronald Reagan, Liz Taylor, Michael Jackson (for some reason, I see him as being highly unstable, and would not be surprised if he either attempted or succeded in taking his own life), Pope John Paul II, and somehow I see another child star/former child star...maybe Macaulay Culkin? All I do know is that as it seems to be in all deaths, they will come in 'threes'. It's an odd pattern, but it does seem to happen that way. But, sadly, I do not see his excellency, the Pope, being with us much longer, given his state of health...but then at his age, I guess he deserves to go home to God. --Christine |

Another side note I forgot to mention...I noticed that (and I agree with you) that Rodney Dangerfield is in poor health, and given Jonathan Brandis' recent suicide... if Dangerfield were to pass next, it would definitely be odd, given that Brandis starred in "IT" with Ritter, and "Ladybugs" with Dangerfield. I get chills even now just thinking about it. --Christine |

Even when I was younger I thought that ol Ronnie was on his last leg then. I see a Johnny/June thing happening with the Reagans, one will go and the other will follow suit within months. The last time I saw Carol Channing she did look as if the steam is going out and when Bob Hope passed, they also had a blurb about Johnny Carson's health, so that's a big maybe too |

That would be a weird coincidence w/ the Brandis passing. During the prior accusations around 94' I was in high school and after drama rehearsals I'd call my mom to come pick me up. Well I'd call and one time my brother answered and he very believable told me that MJ had committed suicide because of what happened. I told everyone in the room. We were sad, and we remembering hilights of his career, and forgetting about his wacko ways. The next day everyone was so mad at me! Well I called again and my brother answered again, but this time my brother told me that River Phoenix died of a drug overdose outside a club. I was like yeah right! River Phoenix and drugs? That just doesn't make sense and I told everyone again my brother's news and we were all like...yeah right. That was a shocker to me. He was so talented. |

I think Christopher Walken should be on that list there too. He's an awesome actor, and have you ever seen that guy dance? I was floored... who knew he had such cool moves?! And I hear what you're saying, we seem to be losing more and more beloved stars. They say that for every star that burns out another one is born, but personally I don't think that any new star could ever compare to the ones that preceded it. Good post and good food for thought! Much love, many hugs and kisses, and the best of luck, hopes, and wishes to you and to ALL! -KQ a.k.a. |

Don't remember where I found it, but did a search on Google, and found this site where people are actually casting 'bets' to see who's going to go next. At the top of their list was : Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, Margaret Thatcher, Charlotte Church (somehow I think that's a vendetta thing for those who don't like her voice), Macaulay Culkin, Ronald Reagan, Michael Crawford (how dare they insinuate that my Phantom is going to leave me? MC is one of my favorites!), Michael Jackson, George W. Bush, Bush Sr., Hussein, Bin-Laden, etc. I thought the site was kind of silly, as for the most part, aside from Cash, Hope, and a select few, none were very realistic 'predictions'. |

Carol Channing always looked old to me, even when I was a kid! I thought that Christopher Walken kind of aged bad, or something..he really got old looking fast. Maybe because I keep seeing re-runs, then one day you see a current pic of them. I guess when you watch movies over and over again, that are 25-30 years old, and then BAM!! LOL. Jack Nickelson looks old. I guess I do too. |
