Alone for the holidays

It looks like I'll be alone for the holidays this year. Sure I'll have my family and my children *maybe* around, but the one person that I wanted to be with for the holidays I am no longer with. So who else is going to be alone for the holidays?

Date: 12/11/2003 3:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 61782    I feel the same way...I have my family but there's still that one person who I would love to be there but they won't be :'(
Date: 12/11/2003 3:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 62367    The lonliest Christmas I spent was in the Army barracks at Ft. Lewis, WA. It was my last 3 months in the service so I decided to stay at the base since my 3 years were up in February. Little did I know that I would not get home for another 3 years. I was alone (no family) for the last two Christmas's but spent it with my best friend and her family. Thank God for good friends. This year I will be flying home to Iowa to spend the holiday with my family.

Date: 12/11/2003 4:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 8278    i am kind of in that situation. i have my son (which is always wonderful) but his father (my husband) was arrested recently for running a red light. we just got the notice that he won't be home until August 2004. =( he is going to miss the holidays and our sons 9th birthday (which is 2 days after Christmas) (he was on parole for something he did 9 years ago. that is why he is stuck there until August. they are keeping him until his parole is up) but it stinks because he will be there and missing everything. he loves the holidays and always made them great. my son is miserable because of it. the way i see it is at least my son and I will get to be together.

Date: 12/11/2003 6:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 62410    I got it worse than you -- I'll be completely alone for the holiday - no fam - no kids, just me - yep sounds like a groovy time huh? Scall
Date: 12/11/2003 6:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 36901    I will be alone Christmas day because my hubby has to work. I was in tears when I found out last week and I'm still upset over it. I feel bad for everyone that has to be alone for the holidays (even if it's just for one day like me).
