Was it like this in the 60's? here at my school, kids are what? 15? 16, 17? and they get their license, their own car, own cellphone, credit card, expensive clothes, jobs that pays $8/hr.... how can they afford the car anyway?

I only got my first job a year ago. I probably won't get a license till two years in college...and it'd be quite some time before I have my own car.

by the way, how much money do I need to have in the bank to get a visa card? I want to get one next year.

I'm surprized to see some young children with cell phones as well. I saw a child that looked about the age of 12 or 13 and she was all dressed in skimpy clothing walking around the mall by herself chatting on her cell phone.
