i think either mothering in general or a story of raising YOUR kids? What being a mother SHOULD be like? If that makes sense.... |

I think you should write about whatever it is you want to write about. I'd like to read about different aspects of 'mothering', not just the super warm and fuzzy. I think anything anyone could write about mothering could end up having a valid point to it and make a good story. Does the book have to be only about a certain type of typical, perfect and politically correct motherly heroic figure? If not, let the ink start flowing. |

How do you feel about your mother now? My mother wasn't a good mother either, but since her passing we have become close spiritually. We talk in spirit and she has moved on in lots of ways. She is happy and I now realise why we chose each other to be mother and son. She taught me a lot of things that a loving mother perhaps couldn't. Her passing gave me the experience of abandonment, the experience of rejection, both of which I must have needed in order to find compassion for others. Through the pain of loss of both my parents at a young age I have become a better person. My choice to learn through that experience has paid itself back tenfold. Both of them are around me when I am at peace and we still teach each other. |

Koolade that is kool. My mother is still alive and doesn't talk to me - refused to come to my daughter's wedding because I would be there. Funny thing is though that I never fought with her. I used to take care of her and when I stopped doing that I became useless to her. Glad you have found a path that works for you. |
