my son is 3 yrs. old now and he has done this i would say for about 1 year. everytime i cook something or he looks in the fridge he gags. there has been times that he has made himself puke also. i dont know why he does this, but we have to give him a glass of water so he doesnt puke everywhere. *ewwwww* i have tried everything to get him to stop this, and it is getting to the point that part of me is worried and part of me is annoyed by this. does anyone have any advice on this and have any of you ahd this problem?

thank you and big hugs..:)

Date: 11/22/2003 9:45:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47930    yeah doc. said he will out grow it and not to worry about it. but i am worried cause i thought this could mess up his gag reflexs, to the point he has no control over it. so thats why i am so worried. hugs
Date: 11/22/2003 9:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 61946    I would take him to the Dr., there may be something that is triggering his gag reflex.
I have never had this problem, but it sounds like it would be a really tough situation. I hope that he gets better soon. Please keep me posted so I know what you find out.

Date: 11/22/2003 10:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 4144    i'm all for that second opinion. that's one i never had to deal with. my kid ate everything in sight, even playdough, and still eats like she's starving at 97 lbs.
Date: 11/22/2003 10:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 59876    it is probably normal. my son is 2 1/2 and he has a bad gag reflex. every time he cries and gets boogeys, if he sees the boogies, he pukes. sometimes you can see him tryig to swallow it back for as much as five minutes, but he always pukes anyway lol. he used to throw up constantly until we watered his milk, then he stopped. for two years he was a big time puker.
Date: 11/22/2003 10:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 59876    second opinion couldn't hurt though.
Date: 11/22/2003 2:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 62401    I have no clue... maybe he is sensitive to certain smells? Like when a pregnant woman smells something and she throws up... maybe that is what happens to him. Lindsay
Date: 11/22/2003 4:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    get another opinion hun....just to be on the safe side...it doesn't sound right to me...hugs Aunty
