You turned away As soon as the gunmen broke in And you made a quick exit As the executioners shot at my head Piercing screams and deep bullet holes Eyes wide with fear and mouth agape Blood trickling out Skull cracking against the floor The lifeless specks of grit Escaping through the clefts Of my cold stiff fingertips We’ll keep this to ourselves It stays buried underground In the ancient wine cellar As a phantom that never emerges From his eternal subversive dungeon No one will ever know Guard our dirty little secret Don’t utter a word And I wont let a mumbled confession Pass through my corrupted lips Moons revolve past the suns The shadowed skeletons forgotten Until a hasty stumble hurls you back Return to me, lover And smell the potent scent Of my rotting flesh and umbra Inhale it deeply Embrace it in your lungs Let it poison your conscious And devour your mind Lest it drag you back to that night Where the story there unfolds My voice cannot rise from within the pages And wisp around the lobes of those who are near But your dying shrieks will give you away And they’ll be my witness to the twelfth stroke of midnight No one will ever discover your limp and pale white body But you’ll be placed next to me Encased in a matching tomb As with sweethearts that should be We’ll decay and corrode together You more than I And in your vain attempt to finish me off It is you that will truly die
