In reality God is not a cold sence of nothingness. He is by all means a warm, merciful God who loves his creation. According to the scriptures he is very aware of mans sufferings and has it in his purposes to restore the paradise that Adam and Eve lost to us thus creating a wonderful home for all righteous hearted people.. So the next time you are alone and feeling this cold sence of nothingness, try praying to the Almighty God for help in finding him, and if your heart is rightly disposed he will answer. |

The point is this! Our senses are so corrupted that we interpret God's presence as cold and dead, when in reality it is full of life. |

I agree with you in that our sences are certainly not what they should be. If we were created perfect and still in that position we would have a perfectly balanced emotional makeup, our sences would be finetuned and everything else that God gave us to enjoy and make our lives pleasureable would be used to the fullest. Unfortunatly that is not the case at this time so we have to go to the bible for answers. |

oh, I get a feeling of love & peace, when I am waist deep in the ocean & call upon the Lady & The Lord. I can feel knowlege, and a sense of understanding come upon me. My Bible is the whisper in the trees, and the sounds of seabirds. |

So do we worship creation or the Creator? I too have those feelings of peace and serenity when I am in the presence of Gods magnificant works but I recognize the intelligent designer behind it all. And it is to him I give glory and praise. |

PamyJo-I am praising the Creator(s). I do not know if there is one God, or One Goddess, but my Creator is Both & Neither. And, in the end, we will all find out |

We are all totally depraved? And you perceive God's presence to be a totally cold, dead nothingness? Good grief , who told you this and are you sure you are speaking of God... this is not the God I know! If you learned this in church , I would suggest that you go elsewhere for your information. Mercy!!! |

Chris, I think caution is in order here. There may be times when we cannot seem to find or sense God's presence; there may be times when we feel detached, unemotional and unaffected by what's happening around us. However, it's a giant leap from those positions to "the cold and dead feeling is the presence of God." As believers, we must be careful to avoid fashioning God in our image, after our likeness. God's presence is near us always, not because we "feel" appropriate thrills and chills, but because He promised us He would be. You may want to entertain the possibility that God is trying to strengthen your faith in His Word, and weaken your dependence on "flawed senses." Thank you for your honesty; I'm praying for you. |
