i thought about that, but i wasn't sure where it would have been. i was afraid i was going to pull out something important. my sons father bought the truck and said when he got it, he disconnected the alarm because it never worked. so i was afraid to tamper with anything. thanks for the advice =) |

I agree - disconnect the power supply from the siren. It *may* have a back up power supply, but that will only last for a few hours. As for why it went off, it may have something to do with the fact that because it was off the road for so long, the batteries in the back-up supply went dead. Normally, alarms go off at this stage (they think someone is trying the cut their power), but it could be something is weird with yours and it was only on receiving power again when you jumped it, that the batteries have kicked-in. No idea! |

i have NO idea what kind it is. it was in there when he bought it and he said he disconnected it so i never bothered to look. I didn't jump the car yet. so the batterey is dead, but the alarm won't stop. don't those usually die with the car battery? grrrrrrr....this is going to drive me insane (not to mention my poor neighbors lol). |

Ohhh.... Well in that case it's because the battery is dead/dying and the alarm thinks you're trying to cut its power. It would normally only last a few hours I would imagine though... If you jump it and drive the car around for a bit, it should stop |
