It sounds like poor management or employee issues. I would call the store, ask to speak to the manager. If once you explain this situation, the manager does nothing...say, "that's fine, now all I need from you is your District Manager's name and number please." If they refuse that, which rarely happens...call the corporate number and complain. The only way to often get people to "do right by their customers" is to go to the top. Good luck and I agree, they're in the wrong.  |

The manager was standing right by and didn't do a darned thing. Thats ok tho they'll just not get my business anymore, hastings may cost a bit more but atleast each of there movies no matter if its new or whatever is due back on all the same day so its a lot less of a hassle!  |

One thing to know...they will send you to collections for even a minute late fee. They did that to my boyfriend(now hubby), years ago when he went back to college, out of state and they couldn't find him. His late fee was like $3 or something but when they added on the collection fee's he owed over $20. I'd call and get the District Mgrs number and I'm sure they'll take care of it for you. They want you to continue to be their customer. Chances are, they'll do something extra for you to make up for it. All it takes is a call though. good luck |

another reason why i love hollywood video! block buster stays screwed up. and there are don't seem to be any two people in the whole place that knows the same thing. hollywood is best. less than a dollar highter and you keep them for five nights!  |

I loath blockbuster. Sadly, it's the only video store right next to me. I hate the fact that you have to have the movie back by noon. I went to go and rent "finding nemo" the other day, and it's a ONE day rental. ONE day! and you still have to pay $4.00 for it. I said "screw this, I'll wait a few weeks". I'm not paying 4 bucks for 1 day.  |

amen carrie!! at hastings its 3-4 bucks for a 5 night rental no matter the movie.. and if you turn it in the next day before closing you get a one dollar credit towards the next movie you rent! |

in my town theres a HOLLYWOOD video and its $1.50 a night. i think thats a bargain. i dont no if all of them do it that way though.  |

We have a Hollywood video here, too. But the best video store we have is "Tommy Kay's". The selection they have is HUGE and you keep it for 3 days. It's $3.20 to rent and it you have till midnight to bring it back. |

Yeah, sometimes they do screw up with charging me when I turn the tapes in on time. But I actually like Block Buster, because they sell a lot of tapes no one wants for cheap and I buy them. Where else am I supposed to get Critters, Critters II, and Critters III, and the whole series of Amazing Stories LOL?  |

I did turn in a movie late and I never got a bill, but I guess I did at my previous add, cause I had moved, and I got a bill from a collectons agency for like 4 or 5 bucks!!  |

The only reason I keep on going back to blockbuster is because there is this hottie that works there and flirts with me when I go in. Of course everytime I go in there I have my 22 month old baby cousin with me, so he prolly thinks the baby is mine. :/ |

My brother has been working at Blockbuster for over 2 years now and every time I go to see him, I ususally see a lot of customers complaining about late fees. You know how they say that you have to turn in the videos before noon?, they acutally extend it until 2pm but no one is suppose to know that. LOL! That's what my brother says what they do. The same thing kind of happened with me, only at Hollywood Videos. I turned my dvd movies on time and they called me 5 DAYS LATER saying that I forgot to put one of the dvds in the case (which I did) So I turned the dvd back to them and I asked them did I have to pay for a late fee and they said that I had to. They're suppose to check the movies that same night when they get returned or early the next morning, not 5 days later!! Since I did turn all of those movies on time but forgot about that one dvd, I refused to pay for that stupid fee and I never went back to that store again.  |

I love to rent movies, have a family night with my mom and little sis and a big bowl of popcorn watching the dog beg for some of it lol.. oh well now we will either travel the extra distance to hollywood videos or just go to hastings which i think i'll like better either way lol.. |

I liked blockbuster too they had whole sorts of variety of movies and the ones you can buy tooo but this late fee charge when i haven't turned in a late movie is crap! i'm not paying an xtra 4 bucks for there problems |
