Block Buster are pains in the rear!!

I go today to rent some movies and am told i have a late fee from my last rental, i'm like hold up i turned in that movie in the drop off box at 7 am before i went to work the day it was due and they check the box every 15=30 minutes after the store opens (which is around 8 or so in the morning) but my movie wasn't checked in till 4 that evening.

So i procced to inform the lady that i turned it in on the way to work before the store opened.. she told me that if i have problems with the drop box to bring it inside.. i stated again that the store was not open and its too late in the afternoon when i get off to return it in time.. she again states if i have problems bring it inside so again i said the store was not open and i think shef inally got it that time

Now this is not the first time that this has happened to me, the last time i turned in 2 movies at the same time in the same drop box and one was checked in at 10 that day the other at 4 in the afternoon that day and got a late fee charge for it. You better believe i argued that one and got her to take that charge off my account.

Anyways today after arguing with the lady for a good 10 minutes over this i flung my blockbuster card at her and said forget it and walked out i seriously hope they aren't expecting me to pay the late fee.

My theory is that yes they do check the drop box outside every 15-30 minutes but they don't check them in till whenever they want to thus some peoples movies being late and so on.

I mean in the first time it happened what did they thing i turned in one movie then drove around town till whenever and turned in the second.. geeze people.

As you can tell i'm seriously unhappy right now and i will never give block buster my business again.. i went to hastings right after this incident and got my movies there!

*grumbles*

If once you explain this situation, the manager does nothing...say, "that's fine, now all I need from you is your District Manager's name and number please." If they refuse that, which rarely happens...call the corporate number and complain. The only way to often get people to "do right by their customers" is to go to the top. Good luck and I agree, they're in the wrong.

Thats ok tho they'll just not get my business anymore, hastings may cost a bit more but atleast each of there movies no matter if its new or whatever is due back on all the same day so its a lot less of a hassle!

They did that to my boyfriend(now hubby), years ago when he went back to college, out of state and they couldn't find him. His late fee was like $3 or something but when they added on the collection fee's he owed over $20. I'd call and get the District Mgrs number and I'm sure they'll take care of it for you. They want you to continue to be their customer. Chances are, they'll do something extra for you to make up for it. All it takes is a call though. good luck

I went to go and rent "finding nemo" the other day, and it's a ONE day rental. ONE day! and you still have to pay $4.00 for it. I said "screw this, I'll wait a few weeks". I'm not paying 4 bucks for 1 day.

Date: 11/14/2003 5:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 24319    We have a Hollywood video here, too. But the best video store we have is "Tommy Kay's". The selection they have is HUGE and you keep it for 3 days. It's $3.20 to rent and it you have till midnight to bring it back.

But I actually like Block Buster, because they sell a lot of tapes no one wants for cheap and I buy them. Where else am I supposed to get Critters, Critters II, and Critters III, and the whole series of Amazing Stories LOL?

Of course everytime I go in there I have my 22 month old baby cousin with me, so he prolly thinks the baby is mine. :/

Date: 11/15/2003 1:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 53909    My brother has been working at Blockbuster for over 2 years now and every time I go to see him, I ususally see a lot of customers complaining about late fees. You know how they say that you have to turn in the videos before noon?, they acutally extend it until 2pm but no one is suppose to know that. LOL! That's what my brother says what they do. The same thing kind of happened with me, only at Hollywood Videos. I turned my dvd movies on time and they called me 5 DAYS LATER saying that I forgot to put one of the dvds in the case (which I did) So I turned the dvd back to them and I asked them did I have to pay for a late fee and they said that I had to. They're suppose to check the movies that same night when they get returned or early the next morning, not 5 days later!! Since I did turn all of those movies on time but forgot about that one dvd, I refused to pay for that stupid fee and I never went back to that store again.
