OMG...I'm so happy that nothing bad happened to her and that you caught it in time. I hope that the cops found that van before any other innocent children might have been taken. |

That is a scary thought. It just takes one split second for a creep to snatch a child up. I'm glad to hear that nothing bad happened, and that she is ok. I have a nephew, and I couldn't imagine something like that happening to him. You definitely have to watch kids at all times. |

I'm happy too that she is safe. You always think nothing like this will happen in your neighborhood and maybe I'm over reacting but good grief, It was my daughter they wanted to take to a "haunted house." |

WOW! That is very scary. I'm glad you were there to keep her safe. You said maybe you were over reacting. Even if you were, it's worth it because she is safe at home. You never know what can happen until it actually happens and you can never be too careful. |

Oh my God. My heart stopped just reading this. How old is your daughter? My five year old was walking 3 houses down to a friends house. I stepped out of the house and was behind a truck in our drive-way watching her to make sure she made it safely when a large car with four males in it suddenly stopped beside her...they pulled over to the curb. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Madison stopped to, I couldn't believe it! And she was just standing there staring at them, they were staring at her. I began yelling at Madison to get away from the car and to keep walking. I guess the guys must have heard or seen me yelling and they took off. I wanted to shake Madison, but it wasn't really her fault. We've always lived on a military post until now and all of us have always taken our safty for granted. We had a nice long talk about strangers. |

Hello everyone and thank you for your comments and prayers, my daughter is nine years old. I thank God too. And you can bet my reaction scared the crap out of her, I was crying and yelling at her to NEVER EVER talk to someone she doesn't know again. I don't think she will, at least I pray she doesn't. |

I'm glad that your daughter is safe. Thank you for posting your tale, so that others will also get the message, and not have to go through the same frightening experience (or worse) that you did. I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but perhaps you may also want to remind her that 'strangers' often also will tend to use the excuse of a lost puppy or kitten to lure children to away with them. I've seen and heard that tale often too. Sadly, like the one of a 'haunted house' on Halloween, its one children cannot resist. Again, I'm glad your daughter is safe, and I hope and pray that the police find the culprits responsible. Chances are, (sadly) that your daughter probably wasn't the only attempted victim... so with your intervention, they hopefully were able to get the people responsible. |
