My daughter was almost kidnapped tonight!!!!!! *~Kysta~*

I'm still shaking thinking about it, I've been trying to play to get my mind off of it but I had to post to let you guys know how easy something horrible can happen.

My oldest, Lakota, gave me a freaking heart attack tonight. We were in the circle in front of our house and they'd just got back from trick or treating with their dad and I was talking to some of my friends across the street and turned around and there she is, pretty as you please talking to some butthole in a van. I was like, "LAKOTA!" and Erica and I started walking toward her and the car sped off. She said they were asking her if she wanted to go to a haunted house. I called the cops, it scared the life out of me, I was crying because she could have been taken. It would have only taken them seconds to jerk her in that van. I'm still shaking over it. But I think she got the point that she is NEVER to speak to strangers again. It's just so scary. Everone needs to be extra careful with their kids. I was just across the street and she was in our driveway, what could have happened I just can't think about. But PLEASE, watch your kids and other kids, the world is so scary now. The cops came and they took our report, but it happened so fast that I couldn't think to look for details, all I know is my daughter was standing there, leaning up against someone I DO NOT know's van. It's just so scary.

Just be careful everyone.

Kysta

Date: 10/31/2003 8:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 61930    That is a scary thought. It just takes one split second for a creep to snatch a child up. I'm glad to hear that nothing bad happened, and that she is ok. I have a nephew, and I couldn't imagine something like that happening to him. You definitely have to watch kids at all times.
Date: 10/31/2003 8:23:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 30986    I'm happy too that she is safe. You always think nothing like this will happen in your neighborhood and maybe I'm over reacting but good grief, It was my daughter they wanted to take to a "haunted house."

Even if you were, it's worth it because she is safe at home. You never know what can happen until it actually happens and you can never be too careful.

Date: 11/1/2003 7:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    Oh my God. My heart stopped just reading this. How old is your daughter? My five year old was walking 3 houses down to a friends house. I stepped out of the house and was behind a truck in our drive-way watching her to make sure she made it safely when a large car with four males in it suddenly stopped beside her...they pulled over to the curb. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Madison stopped to, I couldn't believe it! And she was just standing there staring at them, they were staring at her. I began yelling at Madison to get away from the car and to keep walking. I guess the guys must have heard or seen me yelling and they took off. I wanted to shake Madison, but it wasn't really her fault. We've always lived on a military post until now and all of us have always taken our safty for granted. We had a nice long talk about strangers.
Date: 11/1/2003 8:15:00 AM  From Authorid: 11341    Im so glad she is ok. I cant even imagine. It was hard for me to "read" this and it was your daughter. *shivers*
Date: 11/1/2003 8:16:00 AM  From Authorid: 14780    OMGosh...That is scary...I was told last night to keep an eye on my son at a church "fall festival'...seemed the night before that someone tried to kidnapp a little boy right in town...then last saturday too at the soccer field. Both of them little boys...*shrudders** I live in a small city....
Date: 11/1/2003 10:50:00 AM  From Authorid: 38601    OMG that is so scary I am so sorry, I hope those guys get caught!
Date: 11/1/2003 11:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 57830    That's terrible! i'm so sorry!
Date: 11/1/2003 3:54:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 30986    Hello everyone and thank you for your comments and prayers, my daughter is nine years old. I thank God too. And you can bet my reaction scared the crap out of her, I was crying and yelling at her to NEVER EVER talk to someone she doesn't know again. I don't think she will, at least I pray she doesn't.
Date: 11/1/2003 9:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    I"m so sorry to hear that, ,I'm sure glad she is ok. Your right its crazy out there, and it only takes a second for them to snatch a kid.
Date: 11/1/2003 9:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 12341    I'm glad she is safe. Abduction of a child is a nightmare for parents and grandparents. We must always be aware and alert.
Date: 11/2/2003 1:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 62408    I'm glad that your daughter is safe. Thank you for posting your tale, so that others will also get the message, and not have to go through the same frightening experience (or worse) that you did. I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but perhaps you may also want to remind her that 'strangers' often also will tend to use the excuse of a lost puppy or kitten to lure children to away with them. I've seen and heard that tale often too. Sadly, like the one of a 'haunted house' on Halloween, its one children cannot resist. Again, I'm glad your daughter is safe, and I hope and pray that the police find the culprits responsible. Chances are, (sadly) that your daughter probably wasn't the only attempted victim... so with your intervention, they hopefully were able to get the people responsible.
