WASHINGTON - Need a cup of java to get going in the morning? There's a new alternative -- but you'll have to get naked.
No, it's not a Starbucks for swingers. It's caffeinated soap.
And yes, you'll need to lather up in the shower. A product called Shower Shock claims to put a little pep in your step with its peppermint scent and caffeine -- roughly two coffee cups worth with each washing.
The caffeine supposedly gets into your skin and gives you a little lift, though no independent testing has proved that. Each four-ounce soap bar is said to last through about a dozen showers.
But if you want to clean up to wake up, the cost of the soap may give you a jolt. It's $6.99 a bar.
