If you knew this girl knew the guy you should have spoken up about it to someone. As a juror it was your responsibility. I kind of think teens judging teens is a good idea..They are being judged by their own peers. The jurors are learning some life lessons as well as the defendant. |

To be honest, I'm scared of that girl, shes not a very nice person so I wasn't going to say anything. This happened like 3 months ago, I just never got around to posting it. Thanks for your reply LL |

Lol, I don't think this would work in our town! I live in a little Appalachian city overflowing with juvenile delinquents hehe. Anyway, I think this is a really good idea, but I agree with you that it's not be executed in the best manner. People who have committed like crimes are not likely to punish others to the full extent of the law, and most certainly won't want to punish their friends. Some form of this is definately a good idea though. I think it's great that you voluteer, and even if you do "stick out like a sore thumb" I think you should keep doing it. Snaps for you!!! |

I agree with it because they are being judged by their peers. It wouldn't work in Australia because once you turn 15 you get tried as an adult anyway! |

We don't have that, no sirree.. but I wouldn't object to it. To me, it sounds like a good idea. Like any other court, the jury is (or at least should be in this case), well, sifted. That means, if you are to have any bias, you leave. Now. This makes the trial fair. At least to a certain degree. I think it is a good idea for teens to make decisions about other teens, because they might be familiar with a motive or a situation that adults can't seem to connect with or understand. Teens are as sympathetic as they are critical of their own kind. Adults..are not. |

Thanks for your replies CaseyGirlie, Kurtvedder, and AV. I don't think they "sift" through the jury though, the jury is all the other kids who have gotten in trouble..everyone gets jury duty from 5 to 20 cases but I get what your saying! |

Adults should decide, just like adult cases. |
