They are going to die....

  Author:  13974  Category:(Debate) Created:(10/20/2003 10:34:00 AM)
This post has been Viewed (1308 times)

I say today that people from this day forth will die in car accidents. I believe that many people will get hit by cars, or die in their own cars.

This is the prophecy I impart to you, members of USM. So go forth and spread my word, for I have said that there will be those who will die in cars, and all who you give this proclamation to shall concur.

Is my prediction correct, and was it divine inspiration, when someones dies in a car, will this make me divine because I said it would happen, and it came to be?

Date: 10/20/2003 10:36:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 13974    I hear on a regular basis people point out the Bible said that people would not agree with Christians, and would turn their backs on them. This is referenced as if it were a divine prophecy. Still, when you consider the story that they are asking people to swallow, is this prophecy any more divine than the one I just made?
Date: 10/20/2003 10:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 62118    You prophecy is likely to happen. I predict the earth will continue to orbit the sun, obviously I'm right but that doesn't make me divine, it means I'm predicting the future by using what happens frequently in the past. Predict something unlikely to happen, if it does happen then there may of been more to it.
Date: 10/20/2003 11:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 36967    That doe not hold water. Bible Prophecies are not that broad that it could mean anything. That fact that people would make fun of Christianity, I don't consider that a prophecy. Because Jesus was warning his people about such people. It came as a warning, not a prophecy.

Date: 10/20/2003 11:17:00 AM  From Authorid: 36967    I am going to predict that people will celebrate Christmas on December 25th, and some people will ceblebrate Halloween on October 31st. Thanksgiving will be celberated the last thursday in November. Some people will celebrate Easter on the First Sunday after the first Full moon of spring. What if my predictions come true, does that mean I am God.

Date: 10/20/2003 11:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 6358    I'm confused by this post. People die in car accidents every day. How is this a prophecy?
Date: 10/20/2003 12:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 30747    Nah that's not prophecy. That's guessing an event based on statistics. Besides, prophets are established and believable. They didn't become prophets by one day saying "Oh by the way, I can predict the future" They had to prove themselves to be believable and the predictions were pretty far fetched yet came to pass. Stuff like that.
Date: 10/20/2003 12:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 1225    Much to general. My prediction: The President will be in danger towards the end of December. Life-threatening and everything.
Date: 10/20/2003 3:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 40089    LOL yep a Big difference ,Your has already come to pass years before you told of it .
And for the record I am Christian an have never ask anyone to swallow the Bible or Mans made up stories ,and never tried to push anything on thing , I beleive its your soul and if you want to sit on your rear an let someone else tell you and not find out for yourself well thats your problem , most anti Christian's have read Very little of the Bible and listen to what their Grandpa's or Grandma's have told them to be true, or the preacher that didnt not Diddly , and Most have never read the Orginal Manuscripts much even seen them , try read some of them and not just the KJ version and you just ( mite ) find alot of the so called Preachers of today are way of course . all of that to say Not all Christians are the same .
God Bless

Date: 10/20/2003 4:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 47162    hmmmm good point.*shrug*
Date: 10/20/2003 4:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 62357    This holds no steam, because people die every day in cars, so what's new and mystical about that? Darlene
Date: 10/20/2003 5:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 43141    no, it wouldnt make you out to be anything more than another person who is either speaking common sense, or thinks that they are being shown visions, prophecy, etc.
Date: 10/20/2003 5:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 45630    I like this. This is exactly what Nostradamus did. He based all of his predictions on human nature!
Date: 10/20/2003 6:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 40979    Wow dude....don't talk like that . you're scaring me !!
Date: 10/21/2003 7:07:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 13974    Hehehehe. Ok, of course these things have already happened. What I am talking about is the way that many people of the Christian faith seem to hold Jesus' statement that not everyone would agree with Christians as some sort of divine prophecy. You can hear almost on a daily bassis "See, Jesus said this would happen, and now it is! They are persecuting Christians." and act as if this is somehow proof of the validity of the Bible, when all it truely is, is stating human nature. People were persecuted for their beliefs before Christ came along, and continued to after his death, just as people died in cars before yesterday, and will continue to tomarow.
Date: 10/23/2003 1:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 15070    I predict right about now, someone is reading this post & praying....,"Thank you that I am not lost/damned/unforgiven & pitiful like Phydeau.......". If you prophesy in God's name, you are Blessed, if you don't use God's name, you serve Satan.I also foresee no one will understand the humor, nor see my tongue-in-cheek humor behind this response. *wink*
Date: 10/23/2003 1:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 15070    BTW-I love this post!
Date: 10/24/2003 7:07:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 13974    Nor will they see mine LSG, trust me.
Date: 10/24/2003 1:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 15070    LOL.......I understand. Let' see......there is an older man.....J?....James? John?, or George, yes? He was old? looked old?.....sorry, doing my "John Edwards" impression. *wink*
Date: 10/24/2003 1:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 15070    either I need to change contacts, or stop this winking.
Date: 10/26/2003 8:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 11240    Jest all you want, a TRUE prophet is one who gives all credit for their knowledge to God. Since you don't mention "God", I will take it to mean that you are either a FALSE prophet (the prevalence of which is, again, prophesized by the Word of God), or think of yourself as "God" which I seem to have to keep telling you in your posts, Phydeaux, that you are not. God Bless.
Date: 10/26/2003 8:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 62118    A 'TRUE Prophet' is a religious fanatics way to give credit to their God, for something their God has not done, pretty much like everything else.
Date: 10/26/2003 7:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 11240    O.K., RT'd, . . . so am I understanding you to say that you concur in my assessment that Phydeaux is a FALSE prophet? God Bless.
Date: 10/27/2003 1:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 62118    From which religions point of view? From Christians he and so is basically anyone who doesn't credit God for Prophecies they predict. I'd imagine a false prophet as someone who gives incorrect predictions.
Date: 10/27/2003 7:26:00 AM  From Authorid: 11240    When did "religious viewpoint" become the barometer for what is a prophet? There are plenty of other words to use for people that make predictions without giving credit to God: astrologers, psychics, weathermen, etc. God Bless.
Date: 10/27/2003 9:34:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 13974    Again Deb, you missed the point. The point is that pointing out the obvious aspects of human nature, action and reaction is far from prophecy. Saying that the Bible predicted people would disagree with Christians is like saying people will die in car accidents. As my best freind once said "WELL DUH!" Come on, I may as well predict the sun will rise tomarow, or that lemons are sour.
Date: 10/27/2003 3:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 11240    Oh, Phydeaux, I am not missing the point of your generalized statement. It is in the specifics that God's Knowledge will be discernable, and while I am not going to go into it here, I fully believe that you will see this for yourself one day (which still would not necessarily change your free will's decision as to whether to believe in Him God bless.
Date: 10/28/2003 2:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 62118    Not all predictions come from prophets. Research and calculation can predict events, in most cases they do, but do you call them prophets? Prophets are usually related to the supernatural, on the other hand any one can predict things without being labled a false prophet.
Date: 10/28/2003 8:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 11240    And, once again, RT'd, I see you concurring with my previous comments. There are plenty of other labels for those people who like to make predicitons. For those who choose to make predicitions, AND call themselves a prophet or say that they are prophesizing, AND not give the credit of their supposed knowledge to God, they are FALSE prophets. God Bless.
