Earthly Surrender (if you can come up with something better, let me know)

Hands resting in folded arms
Quotations that never existed:
"some day we should get married
so we can say we're not in love"
It's your time, continue -
Stare at the ordinary, consider
How typical it is while people
Ponder
The cynical wonders of that void
Daily life
"some day" whisper, resounded
Up in the skies of tranquil azure resting on green
Blades below
Clouds passing by, scream reason
In soft murmurs to my barren skull
Clutched in lifeless hands
Dangling from lifeless wrists
Caressing the logic of nothingness
Strung along in awkward cycles
Redundant, accepted truth

Just here and what that means...
"no life, no love" they convey
To me through cracked lips below my feet
Footprints crossing gaping mouths
If they could only speak they would
"no life, no love"
Trample the blunders of all the others
Before sin and plunder, our faults
Perfection now, unquestioned
Chosen ones who pass way
Pathetic existence behind contemporary comforts
Convenient materialism, cardboard boxes
Thrown along the highway of normalcy that block
Views of the extraordinary declared ordinary

No life, no love
No reality, no mirror of introspection
Lighting the way to inspiration
Hands clasp my own, downward on this spiral
As trite as sunsets on bleached beaches
A lover's touch gracing complexion, perfect
Waving fingers in the wind, clouds pass by
Reason surpasses modernism as we
The chosen ones
Eyes closed and blissful
Lose our reflections behind the simplicity
Of an ordinary, "extraordinary" existence

I think i might explain this a bit, mainly because no one is going to read this, anyway. This poem isn't really very self-explanatory, and may actually be a bit too ambiguous (if you read this, and you feel it is, just let me know). The perspective in this shifts from an unidentified individual, to Mother Earth, to myself as the Narrator. The concepts in this are just as varied as the perspective - the redundancy of an unquestioned, uninspired life, then the pain Mother Earth feels as we rape her of the plentiful resources she provides for us, oblivious ("no life, no love" is the voice of the earth, unable to fathom something that can cause such immense evil living a worthwhile life, or even being able to comprehend and live out such a wholey good and pure concept as true love), and lastly of how most human being would rather live a simple, ignorant life (one they may even deem "extraordinary") than face the pains of life, love and the introspective observation *not the only concepts just the main ones* ...well that's my ramble. I will surely jump for joy if this even gets one response :) G'evening (day, morning, afternoon....) to all and best wishes. *Karina*
