Chapter 8 : The Visitor
"Blood... blood everywhere."
Where is that voice coming from?
Madison opened her eyes, the room around her spun. It was dark, gray, and dirty and the moving only added nausea to the morbid environment. She lifted her hand up, it was wet. She looked at it, not blood. Thankfully. She tried to sit up, she heard something make a sudden move as she did. She used her hand to hold herself up as she looked around the room. She couldn't see much.
"Who's there?" she yelled.
"Are you alive," a voice said.
She looked around, the room spun and her stomach tightened.
"Yes, where are you," she said.
She heard footsteps. She pulled her legs below her and felt around her, she was off the ground and there was one wall to her back.
"Where are we," she asked.
More movement, like a mouse. Quick and frantic.
"Please answer me," she said.
Quietly she heard the footsteps come closer. She felt apprehensive, what if it was an attacker. It couldn't be, they would have done away with her by now. The face suddenly came out of the darkness. Pale, large blue eyes - bloodshot - blonde hair wet and falling behind her head. She stared up at Madison.
"Are you... one of them," it said.
Madison shook her head, tears welling in her eyes. They had killed others just like her she realized.
"I came her with friends, have you seen them," Madison asked.
The girl sank back down into the darkness and mumbled something to herself. Madison questioned whether she could trust her, or if she was just as crazy as the rest of them. She heard the girl move away suddenly.
"Please. Please don't leave," Madison cried.
"Your friend...," the girl said from the darkness.
Madison shut her eyes, if the girl had seen her friends it would be too late.
"A girl. I saw her," the voice in the darkness continued.
"Is she... is she alive," Madison asked.
Something slammed from above them. Madison heard the girl squeal and run away, Madison looked around frantically, the girl had left her.
