Hiya
I want to try this out. I wonder if any starving poets have ever sought out the source of Sylvia Plath to digest into their creative juices. I for one have and still often go back and re read her words. To me, when I read her talent, I get imagery of her life and her feelings. To me she is one of the most talented poets who existed. She was raw and unforgiving, but mostly to herself. She has engraved imagery of total purity in as pure a form as I have ever found She was not of flowers and platitudes and was naked in what she gave to the world. I would love to hear of your opinion of her work and give to you... some of her words to ponder
Doom of Exiles Print Window
Now we, returning from the vaulted domes Of our colossal sleep, come home to find A tall metropolis of catacombs Erected down the gangways of our mind.
Green alleys where we reveled have become The infernal haunt of demon dangers; Both seraph song and violins are dumb; Each clock tick consecrates the death of strangers
Backward we traveled to reclaim the day Before we fell, like Icarus, undone; All we find are altars in decay And profane words scrawled black across the sun.
Still, stubbornly we try to crack the nut In which the riddle of our race is shut.
o yes.. she is dark.. but that is her dearest charm, her ruthless look and expression of the things we fear to look at and fear even more to embrace
Now... imagine having the guts to expose your spiritual undergarments for all to view?......
what courage..what courage
