opinions on this... (about relationships... not mine... just general)

i want to know what all of you think about this...

in a relationship, should the other person's feelings influence yours?

for example...

you are having a good day... then you go to see your significant other and they are having a bad day... so you get sad too, and your day turns into crap.

Date: 10/11/2003 11:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 53900    well I can be having a great day and then get around my husband for a few minutes and I am totally miserable. We dont always get along very well and he thinks when he is having a bad day it is ok for him to take it out on me.
Date: 10/11/2003 11:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 53909    That happens with me. If my bf is in a good mood while I'm in a good mood, I can feel his feelings and then I can get into a bad mood also. Happens with my friends also.

Date: 10/11/2003 12:55:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 57054    punk star chik, that's how it is with me and my boyfriend... i feel like we are more connected this way, like his feelings run through me, and mine run through him... i just had to ask this question because all of these people are telling me that i should'nt let his moods influence mine... i dont necessarily see it as a bad thing since him being happy is something that i require to be totally happy... and he needs me to be happy for him to be totally happy also. when i'm in a bad mood, or having a bad time... so is he... and vice versa. does any of this make sense? lol...
Date: 10/11/2003 1:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 47166    A day cannot, technically, be "bad." A day just is. A "day" is just a term to measure the passage of 24 hours, give or take. Your mood in that period of time, however, can vary significantly.

Date: 10/11/2003 1:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    i think the other persons feelings should have a baring on yours... like it's not goood for you to be overly happy when your partner is having a really shotty day and all upset and mad
Date: 10/11/2003 1:44:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 57054    exactly midnightly...
Date: 10/11/2003 4:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 39258    I don't know, in my experience, if my boyfriend is having a bad day, I try to cheer him up. Eventually, he snaps out of it. If I'm having a bad day, though, and he's having a good day, it puts me in a better mood to be around him. I've never been "brought down" by anyone else's emotions.
Date: 10/11/2003 4:52:00 PM  ( Admin-FA )   I agree with Midnightly
