Date: 10/10/2003 4:20:00 PM From Authorid: 1225 The government gives us no rights as our rights predate all governments. Governments are instituted among men to protect rights. Governments derive their just power from the consent of the governed and if any government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it. |
Date: 10/10/2003 4:22:00 PM From Authorid: 1225 Nor should any nation impose freedom upon another. Such a thing is impossible to do right. Give a man a fish, or teach him to fish. Give a people freedom, it won't last. Teach a people to create their own freedom, it will last until they stop creating it. |
Date: 10/10/2003 4:25:00 PM From Authorid: 24732 Well I think everyone is entitled to "natural rights" no matter where they live- the right to live, not be abused, even freedom of speech might be considered a natural right. If their government supresses them they should have the right to fight back. |
Date: 10/10/2003 4:56:00 PM From Authorid: 28848 These are very good points that you have made here. I do think that our government has the say in everything or should I say big businesses and corporations that sponsor the politicians...I think that over all, money is in control. Very good post! |
Date: 10/10/2003 5:09:00 PM From Authorid: 55967 God makes plants out of seeds, and the forest decides its fate---whether it will grow to its tallest potential or be stunted and withered in the shadow of the oak. God makes babies. Man does the rest. |
Date: 10/10/2003 5:50:00 PM From Authorid: 54987 If we were to take on the role of liberating all countries ruled by cruel dictators we would be bankrupt. Freedom is a peculiar thing, and it is not something we can fully have, like a world free of terror. |

Not to go off tract. But one teacher is teaching the Declaration of Independence. The ACLU is actually going nuts over it, because the Decleration of Independence has given by a creator. Shows you what kind of people the ACLU are. |
Date: 10/10/2003 8:19:00 PM From Authorid: 22080 i used to think it was the people but now i know its the government filling their heads with propaganda and sending em to the polls |
Date: 10/11/2003 10:11:00 AM From Authorid: 1225 The ACLU is doing what? You gotta get me a link to that news item; that could seriously change my opinion about the ACLU. |
Date: 10/12/2003 12:25:00 PM From Authorid: 62060 To me freedom is a confusing concept... We're supposed to have it yet we have so many restrictions. But I have no experience of living in an 'oppressive' country, so I don't really know. As for the government? Democracy only gives the illusion of freedom. |
Date: 10/13/2003 7:21:00 PM From Authorid: 47296 America is not a country of the free, nor are all rights equeal. What freedoms we do recognize are because our government knows the people still have the ability to stand up for their rights. If teh government ever feels they can control the people and remove those rights without fear of he people revolting, then they will do so. |
Date: 10/13/2003 8:16:00 PM From Authorid: 17204 Should be God given, but governments decide. |
