Another popular hangout isn't so much known for it's ghosts but for the death that occured out front. The Viper Room is located at 8852 Sunset Boulevard and is owned by actor Johnny Depp. On Halloween night 1993, actor River Phoenix died on the sidewalk of a drug overdose. The nightclub is still a popular hangout for Hollywood's hottest stars so be sure to stop and make an appearance.
While strolling Hollywood, remember to keep your eyes open for Lon Chaney. Years ago, he was regulary spotted in the area of Hollywood and Vine, sitting on a bus bench. This bench has since been removed. The ghost is now said to haunt Phantom of the Opera set at Universal Studios Sound Stage 28. An unidentified presence has also been felt and heard in an area of the Jaws Lagoon studios tour.
Apparently, Hollywood Blvd and Sierra Bonita Ave is an area for frequent sightings of Native American apparitions. They have been seen on the streets, sometimes causing accidents, and in homes of this area.
Speaking of homes, there are many haunted residences in Hollywood and the surrounding areas. There have been many sightings at various private residences that were previously celebrity owned homes.
