Hi Guys!!! Ive decided that Im gonna move to Canada in 2005 (Im currently in Australia) and Im just wondering if there is a few things that you guys can give me hints on when travelling. I have never been on a plane before...so any airport tips would be fantastic, Ive also never been to Canada obviously, so any tips for people travelling to Canada would be great too. Ive got to set up the basics like a bank account, get my passport organised, health care I guess Ill do when Im there, etc etc... Im just after general hints and tips as I have probably already have thought of them but you guys might also make me think of things I havent thought of yet and need to get a move on in arranging... Its gonna be pretty exciting and yeah, Im staying with someone so accomidation is already arranged.

Thanks Guys...

Date: 10/10/2003 3:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 53052    ahh yes i see you do have accommidation arranged...it might be worth your while to just do credit card... get one that is taken most everywhere(visa is most common from what i see) and that way you can work without a bank account and just carry a + balence on the card until you get settled and can open up a bank account
Date: 10/10/2003 3:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 53052    airports are pretty easy... follow the signs...and make sure to tuck your personal info in a INSIDE hiding pocket....and keep your ID's seperate(IE don't carry your passport with your DL with your credit card.... keep those in seperate areas so if one goes missing your not screwed) also photocopy all your ID... other then that you have a ton of time
Date: 10/10/2003 3:21:00 AM  From Authorid: 53052    your home country should have a medical stuff you can apply for while you are living in canada....(canada has the same) they are a buncha forms you fill out and you get a card with a 1-800 number on it and a referance number(i had to do this when i went to england for school... i had a stack of papers about 4 inches high that i had to fill out and such)
