I will not be forwarding all elements of this post itself due to it's sensitive details about his life. These details were only mentioned for the purpose of showing fellow USMer's why he is such a hero********
There's one well-known individual that I truly admire, John Walsh. I don't pay attention to many famous people but he's one amazing person and this is why. He never desired to be "in the spot-light" but once he was, he used that to help others. I'm sure most people know John Walsh from "America's Most Wanted" or his new daytime talkshow.
He's a person that doesn't care for the glitter and glam of Hollywood but uses his fame for a great cause. His mission is to do what ever he can in the time that he has, to save the lives of children, prevent abductions and catch criminals. This goal came about from horrific circumstances that took place earlier in his life. In 1981, his six-year-old son Adam Walsh, was brutally murdered by two pedophile, serial killers. They could only identify his son's remains by his skull. These wicked monsters decapitated Adam.
Shortly after, John and his wife started having severe marital problems. The loss of their one and only child was too much to bare. John's wife, out of grief and anger, had an affair and threatened to leave. John stood by her and they worked through their problems. They made a promise in the memory of Adam's life, to prevent this from happening to other children. Their mission is to bring home abducted children, catch criminals and save lives.
John has never strayed from his caused and speaks of Adam often. Every time I've seen John speak of Adam on TV, there's a tear in his eye and his voice starts to crack. For John, the pain and agony from that terrifying day when Adam disappeared remains strong. He commonly says that every time they bring a child home safely, it's "another one for Adam!" He's a shining example of taking the bad and making it good in some way and he is, a TRUE HERO.
If you'd like to leave a positive message for John Walsh and show appreciation for his accomplishments and continued efforts, please do. I'll be copying those replies and sending them to the Editor of his newest show in the hopes that they'll pass it along to him.
