Over here in Australia, where we have an abundance of Eucalyptus trees growing, the uses for the leaves seem to be never ending...here are some useful tips....
1...Aborigines traditionally used eucalyptus to help heal wounds and reduce fevers.
2...Eucalyptus leaves can kill bacteria and also ease breathing difficulties in people with croup, asthma and bronchitis.
3...Fresh smelling eucalyptus oil is added to deodorants, perfume and soap. It's also great as an insect repellent and is sometimes added to candle and insect sprays.
4...Adding a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil to your laundry load can help get rid of dust mites.
5...If you're plaqued by cockroaches, put a few drops of oil on rags, leave them in your cupboards (away from food or dishes) and watch the cockroaches leave town...LOL!!!
6...BUT TAKE NOTE::: Despite its many uses, eucalyptus is highly toxic and should only be used EXTERNALLY- never INTERNALLY. Keep it well away from children and avoid it if you are pregnant or breast-feeding....
I throw handfulls of the eucalyptus leaves into the wood fire in the living room and it gives off a lovely, fresh aroma.....
